    All Weather Mats

Had Tuxmats on my Model 3 for 4 winters before trading it in - no salt leak through. Have Tuxmats in my Model Y through 1 winter and no issues so far.

Buying used Model Y. Will buying 2021 for Ultra Sonic Sensors help?

This is generally accurate but there are some early 2023 Model Y’s with USS (like mine). My car was manufactured October 2022, right at the transition to the 2023 model year.

Tesla recommends cleaning and lubricating all brake calipers every 12 months or 20,000 km

I’d prefer a recommendation vs walking into a random garage and hoping the mechanics are competent. Would you really do that with your car?

Tesla recommends cleaning and lubricating all brake calipers every 12 months or 20,000 km

Tesla suggests to do this annually. $306 annually to clean/lube your brakes. Oil changes don’t sound so expensive anymore. 🤔 They used to charge $175 for this service and they would come to you. And they would swap your tires at the same time for free. Times have changed!

Tesla recommends cleaning and lubricating all brake calipers every 12 months or 20,000 km

Hi, looking for a mechanic recommendation around Toronto to service the brakes (clean & lube) on my MYP. I reached out to Tesla and they quoted me $306+tax which seems outrageous (This was the Railside Dr location).

Model Y Performance delivered with smaller wheel in rear

Closing the loop. Tesla replaced the incorrect wheel/tire for free with a new set. No hassle. Fortunately not much mileage on the existing tires so I don’t feel the need to replace both tires on the same axle. My car was a demo and before I picked it up, the service centre had swapped the...

Model Y Performance delivered with smaller wheel in rear

Reviving this thread. My 2023 MYP picked up last December came with 3 X 10.5” 275/35 and 1 X 9.5” 255/35 wheels/tires. My front wheels/tires are mismatched. Unfortunately, I only realized today while changing over from my winter wheels/tires. During delivery, I recall only inspecting the...

Should I pull the trigger? Canadian MYP Demo

1100 is nothing for a demo car. It’s a bit strange seeing as it’s a 2022 model. Perhaps it’s a really late 2022? If it was earlier, it should have racked up many thousands of km. It sounds like a pretty good deal assuming condition is good. It comes down to whether or not you need the car now...

Should I pull the trigger? Canadian MYP Demo

Things to consider: 1) What’s the mileage? As a MYP demo, those are probably “hard” kms. Assume a lot of spirited rides and launches. It would bother me but that’s where the $6200 discount comes in. 2) What is the in-service date? That’s when the 4yr/80k warranty started. Less warranty, hence...

Canada extra $5000 discount for taking delivery Dec 21-31, 2022

The site just provides alerts and also a different way to check inventory. You don’t actually transact with them. The site redirects you to Tesla to buy anything. If you’re asking if the site is up to date, I assume it is. Click on a car and see if it links to an active listing on Tesla.com.

Canada extra $5000 discount for taking delivery Dec 21-31, 2022

It’s only 10k free supercharging kms, not 15k. It should be 15k if we were getting equivalent to US where it’s 10k miles. I’m not sure where your sense of fairness comes from. You’re expecting Tesla to extend a current promo to someone who bought a car 14 months ago? Wow.

Canada extra $5000 discount for taking delivery Dec 21-31, 2022

As someone else confirmed, the credit is indeed a discount off the pre-tax price of the car. So there is also tax savings on the $5k. I’m not familiar with the rules for provincial and federal rebates but I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to stack them all.

Canada extra $5000 discount for taking delivery Dec 21-31, 2022

Yes and yes. I suggest speaking with an advisor. They have discretion to apply additional incentives to move inventory vehicles, in particular demos. For example, no charge exterior paint, no charge white interior, maybe no charge rim upgrades, etc. They can also remove EAP or FSD. And FYI in...

Canada extra $5000 discount for taking delivery Dec 21-31, 2022

In addition to 10,000 free supercharging kms, Tesla Canada is now offering $5,000 credit for taking delivery of a 3 or Y in the next 10 days before year end. Nice unexpected bonus for us! Appears to align with the $3,750 credit in the US. Lots of cars in inventory now too if you’re looking.

    Canada $5,000 Referral Credit?!

Just noticed this on my order too. It’s called a referral credit but it’s actually just a discount to incentivize sales. Here is the language from Tesla Canada website:

Model Y Prices starting January 1st

I think this makes sense. The 20” inductions have to be actively added to the config so buyers are consciously opting for those rims. They wouldn’t want to sell the rims after paying $2k for them. For the MYP, the 21” Uberturbines are included in the package whether you want them or not. Most...

When do the 2023 Vins start showing up

USS cutoff is supposedly tomorrow (Oct 7). It would make more sense as a manufacturing cutoff rather than delivery cutoff. Will be interesting to see if these “early” 2023 VINs still have USS.
  24. L

When do the 2023 Vins start showing up

All things being equal, if I was buying a used Model Y, I would prefer a 2023 model over a 2022 at the same price. 4 years from now (or whenever buyers of new Y’s decide to sell their cars), prospective buyers then will also prefer 2023 models over 2022 models (at the same price). More likely...

    FSD price increase - AGAIN!

    FSD price increase - AGAIN!

It really undermines Elon’s justification for raising the price of FSD. As you said, EAP isn’t getting new features or functionality so the value isn’t changing. It’s software so presumably supply chain constraints have no impact. The only reason seems to be pure margin.

Good portable air compressor for the Model 3?

When I was shopping for a tire inflator, I wanted something that could be powered by the 12V accessory socket. In my research, I found that the Model 3 socket is "suitable for accessories requiring up to 12A continuous draw (16A peak)" (taken from the manual). Most compressors I found were rated...

Tesla recommends cleaning and lubricating all brake calipers every 12 months or 20,000 km

The extra $43.75 sounds odd. My $175 service included cleaning the pads with a wire brush, removing light surface corrosion (which there was very little of). In fact, this was the only “cleaning” done. My quote prior to the service was $175 and I paid $175.

Tesla recommends cleaning and lubricating all brake calipers every 12 months or 20,000 km

The tech that worked on my car said that Model 3 brakes don’t come pre-lubed from the factory. So ideally, in cold climates where roads are salted, you would have the brakes lubed before the first winter since the major benefit of lube is anti-corrosion and anti-seize. He suggested that the...

Tesla recommends cleaning and lubricating all brake calipers every 12 months or 20,000 km

Tesla mobile service for $175. I only mentioned my winter wheels/tires after the tech arrived and he was more than fine with mounting them at no additional cost. He only cautioned that he had no means of inflating the tires to the right pressure. He also told me that he had recently serviced...
