Unable to charge

so last Sunday after coming home I plugged my S in to charge like normal. We had the AC in the house running and the hot water heater was also on. It was about 85 or so in my garage. A couple hours into charging we heard a loud thud and I got the notice on my phone that charging was interrupted so I went and checked our panel (brand new in Jan 2019 200 amp service) and the main was tripped along with the 50 amp for my hpwc. I felt the cable at the charge port and it was barely warm but the plug that goes into the 14-50 outlet was hot. I turned everything back on and it all worked like normal.

Last night after coming home I went to plug in and charge and got the message "unable to charge" . I reset my hpwc and it still won't charge. It immediately clicks off but the led lights don't give me any errors. I pulled out my UMC and plugged into 110v and got the same error. I took some pics of the messages:

As you can see I've gotten some weird random messages all around the same time. My navigation now shows my cars location as Mexico for some reason and no amount of scroll wheel resets or power off will work.

I haven't had any of the symptoms listed in the Emmc thread either so I'm not sure if its my on board charger taking a dump on me.

Try charging at a supercharger. If you get the same error, your on board charger may have gone bad. If so, hopefully you have enough range left to make to the service center. Don’t sit on this or vampire drain will eat whatever charge you have left.

Doesn't the supercharger bypass the onboard charger? If anything, OP should try a different AC charger.

It might also be worthwile to check all the connections from the main panel to the car. It wouldn't be the first installation where the screw terminals on a breaker weren't properly torqued and eventually failed.

I tried a different outlet on a completely different circuit with the same result.

Supercharger is to far away to risk it in case I have to drive to the SC. I'm gonna take it over to my buddies house and try his juicebox today.

I tried a different outlet on a completely different circuit with the same result.

With a different connector? If you used the same connector you haven't ruled that out using scientific method. If you use a different known-working connector at a different location and achieve the same result and can still Supercharge I think it's safe to say that your car's onboard A/C charger is toast.

I used my backup UMC plugged into 110v on a completely different circuit and it had the same result.

I had something similar away from primary home -

I was at a parking garage at the Venetian Casino in Vegas and got the charging interrupted message on the app. Went out and tried to restart charging, and it wouldn't restart. A couple days later at the Las Vegas LINQ S/C, would not charge, so I tried a couple of the wall connectors at that site, and same thing. When I plugged in, the charging port light would change from the light blue to dark blue, then went blank when it should have turned green, and I got "Unable to charge" noticed. Called tech support and they could not find any problems, so I drove to the Las Vegas SvC and they validated the problem, kept the car overnight and called me in the morning to let me know the on board charger had failed, they were in the process of replacing it.

Yup sure seems like all the symptoms of a failed on board charger from what I ive been reading and hearing from otnets.

Well im anticipating tesla telling me my onboard charger needs to be replaced so I went ahead and ordered replacement fuses so I can do it myself. I'm not willing to pay 1500 plus for something I can do for my labor and 20 dollar fuse.

Update

Tesla sent me an estimate to replace my onboard charger for 2700.

I already pulled the fuses and sure enough one is bad so tomorrow my new ones arrive.

Fuses arrived today and installed and put everything back together and it's charging like normal. I saved $2650 by doing it myself.

In our car voltage 230v is comming to the car but 0ampers it says unable to charge suddetly voltage dropes to 0 after that charge port colour blinking green turn to red.red lamp is not blinking

Could be a bad fuse in the onboard charger. Have you tried a different charger either at a friend's house or use a different home charger like the umc that comes with teslas? Also have you tried supercharging?

No we did use supercharging because our a/c system is not avaliable...we have two chargers slave and master..we removed the master charger cover but can you circule the location of the fuse when i send a picture

Pwlakewood, could you go thru how to do this job? Or perhaps point me to an existing video? Mine went bad last year and luckily was covered under warranty but it would be nice to have this trick in my bag for the future. Thanks!
