They don't have to worry about video mirroring. The MCU is simply too slow to process the video streaming. It will lag so badly that no one will bother mirroring a video to the screen.

True. As cool as AP 2.0 will eventually be, nothing would be as exciting as ditching the Tegra 3 for... *anything*. A maxed-out gaming laptop runs about 150W and blows the MCU away. Normal driving is around 15kW (300 Wh/mi * 50 mi/h = 15kW). So you could have world-class compute and graphics power for 1% range overhead (it would actually be far less because it wouldn't be running at full power most of the time). I think just about every Tesla owner would gladly trade 2 miles of range for a super snappy MCU.
