Upgradeable 60kw Battery

    Sorry if this isn't the right place for this question, but how can you tell if a Model S w/ 60kw battery OS one that can be upgraded to 75kw? Is there a VIN number or production date that lets you know if it's possible or not?

    2016 Model S 60s and newer. The 60 wasn't available in 2015... it was 70s and 75s before...

    Actually there are 2015 S60s (which are not upgradable). Option list will tell you. Something like BT60 is what it says and BTX5 and BT75 iif it is actually upgradable - check Hanks ev-cpo.com site, but you'll need to subscribe to see the option codes.

    I stand corrected... either way, 2016 Model S 60s are uogradeable...

    Best way to get the most accurate answer to your question. Call Owner Experience and ask the Tesla folks. They can look it up by VIN.
