Upgrading to FSD 5 days prior to delivery

I’ve reached out to my delivery location but it’s been 48 hrs and haven’t received a response yet.

Has anyone upgraded to FSD after your car was shipped from the factory but prior to delivery? I pick up this next Thursday August 1st and have decided to upgrade to FSD. Is it just a simple computer update or new hardware has to be installed? I’m just hoping it doesn’t delay my delivery and whether I should upgrade online or work through my delivery location.

If your car has the AP3 computer as most but not all recent production do, it's simple software. Some cars that were ordered with FSD from the beginning didn't arrive with it configured correctly and Tesla had to change it OTA after a few calls with the service people (like mine.)

It's a software update right now regardless of hardware.

At some point in the future (allegedly starting by end of year) those who got it with a 2.5 computer will get a 3 computer swapped in for free by Tesla.
