Upstate NY new pickup location

I just wanted to provide an update to everyone in Upstate New York that is expecting delivery. My MYP is going to be ready for pickup some time in the new couple weeks. I got my vin assigned recently. I received a phone call yesterday from Tesla that I can move my pickup location from Mt. Kisco to Verona, NY, just east of Syracuse. I asked my SA when this opened and he said this is the first week they're allowing people to take deliveries and you aren't restricted to a 3 day pickup window like Mt. Kisco. He said it would be any time for pickup that would work for me even if the car is in the lot and ready for me.

This looks like the best thing that could happen to everyone in our area and I would recommend contacting your SA if you are expecting to pick up in Mt. Kisco in the coming weeks, which could be up to 400 miles away if you're in Buffalo like myself.

Unfortunate timing, but at least it still worked out for you. I picked up a MY at Mt. Kisco last year using a 1 way rental, which they fortunately reimbursed for me and then I drove the vehicle back. A long 14 hour travel day
Yeah I’m actually ok with it. Stayed at a hotel in town and drove it back the next day. It was actually pretty great getting to drive it back to WNY.

Hopefully this loophole gets us a dealership closer to home.

Hello ,

I just picked mine up from Verona also, I shared this on another thread, hopefully helps a few folks!!

I picked up my MYLR there mid June! A few points, things may have changed since then.
  • When I initially called, they stated my car was not in eligible for pickup there, I had to call back and inquire more about Eligibility which is related to full funding upfront.A very helpful TA teams chatted the turning stone after strongly expressing my desire to pickup the car there.
  • If you have selected an inventory car and you recently were issued a VIN, I recommend you connect with a TA ASAP to reroute the car. For me, we had to reroute the car from NJ that was initially en route Mt Kisco NY and caught it just in time.
  • Once the car was targeted to the Turning Stone, actually greater flexibility behind the 3 day window was provided. I was able to schedule a 2 week window,
  • The Turning Stone delivery does not allow Tesla financing. I initially was planning to use Tesla financing due to the requirement to have full funding. I did have to jump through a few hoops to rearrange third party financing (actually saved a bit on % rate). There a a few extra steps related to acquisition as such as you are now walking on site fully purchasing the car from Tesla fully funded up front similar to a complete cash transaction.
  • The TA I had was super and assisted with questions/answers and outstanding support throughout the process.
  • For me, picking up the vehicle at this location was a major improvement and an easy day trip (3 hour RT) vs 10 plus and I most likely would have had to have an overnighter if picked up from Mt Kisco.
  • I was concerned about not having the dealer on site to repair anything I found- non issue, the car was impeccable and I could not find anything wrong. Additionally I took the position that if anything was found wrong, full warranty could handle it.
  • In summary this was a great option, and would definitely do it again!

I’m lucky with Tesla near my house, but for out East on Lomg Island and the money buying power that’s there, they need to put a sales and service center on rhe Shinnecock Indian Reservation:

Hello,

I am scheduled to pick up my Model Y at the end of September. Was there an actual Tesla employee there at pick up or did you see a casino employee? Also, I took out a loan from my credit union and have a check to pay off the balance. I see you had some funding hoops to jump through, did they finalize the paperwork at Turning Stone or will all this need to be completed electrically before pickup? Thank you for any help as I'm a bit nervous on the process going smoothly.

“you aren't restricted to a 3 day pickup window like Mt. Kisco.” — I recently ended up canceling my delivery altogether! The whole correspondence was either too much (at the time they needed docs uploaded with multiple phone calls/texts in a flood), or if I needed any info like “build date”! - you would see NO RESPONSE on either text or phone all the way up until day before the delivery. I had a few questions esp with trade in - it seem like they were just not concerned and had limited window (2 slots in the middle of work week - it meant at minimum .5 day work miss).

They just did not want to talk about alternate times/slots around weekend. I told them I picked my previous car from them.

The whole thing left me unhappy and just cancelled the order. I did that last min - and went blank on them :) just to make it obvious how they seem on the other side. It’s supply and demand but Tesla delivery/scheduling felt like they don’t have time to talk to you. And so it was - the cancelled order :)

I felt they were very responsive until I ordered and then it was 1-2 days between responses.
