"USB is full" - Important Tip/Trick

This pertains to a Mac computer but maybe the same is for Windows.

I received a message that my USB was full. I attached the usb to my Macbook and deleted old saved files. The USB stick still said it was full.

After moving the files to the trash bin, you need to empty the trash bin to recover space on the USB stick.

This may be trivial for some but maybe it helps others.

Its a nice reminder. You are correct that it is trivial, but it is many times the most trivial of things that cause problems, and people forget (or dont know to) check.

IMO unless there's some specific footage you're in need of or could potentially use, just reformat the drive again.

you also can't delete files using the vehicle's interface so your point is moot. use a phone or a PC (or keep a spare drive) if on a long trip. or simply plan ahead and clear out the data before leaving.

I was carrying a spare usb in the console for that reason. But now that I have the iXpand and SentryView app for my iPhone...don’t really need it. I still keep the spare usb just in case lol.
