I have th same concern. I don’t even use the scroll wheels to change auto pilot speed.

What's this v9 that everybody is talking about? (Still sitting at 2018.28.1 due to lousy WiFi coverage on my driveway).
As of this morning, yes! Note that the car didn't update by itself, since I have no access to wifi where the car is parked. But I went and sat in the car, enabled wifi hotspot on my phone, connected the car to my hotspot and just waited. Sure enough it downloaded the update 20mins later

I got it last night but it failed the install. I’m back in line waiting for another update push. How cruel of Tesla to tease me like that.
Wait, What? It can fail to install? and you go to the end of line again to wait?
Can't you just ask it to install again? I would assume that that the downloaded file is already in the car somewhere.
I got the notice to install today and I set it for 2 AM tomorrow morning because I need to drive the car today.
So, if I wake up tomorrow and it failed to install, is there a way to have the car try to install again?

I didn’t say back of the line, just back in line. I talked to the SC and they looked at the logs. Said they needed to open a case e to see what happened and that they would push another update out to me, but said it could take several days.

So that’s a good point. Checked that after it failed. My car was connected to my 5G radio and it had a pretty weak signal. I changed it to my 2.4G radio and the connection is much stronger. Maybe that botched it.

well i think i officially jinxed myself. On Oct 17 Sunday 10pm MT out of the 966 cars on teslafi 75% are on v9. I’m still in the 25% group v8.1 (36.2).
a boy can dream — hopefully i wake up in the morning to a sw notification.
i know, it’s just not being able to download software on demand (from a SW company in 2018) but rather wait for Uncle Elon to randomly distribute updates hurts my head.
