I ordered mine on 10/31 and my SA said that they were pushing for an early to mid December delivery date. However he did say I might be lucky at get a VIN at any point from here to December.

I think an M3P+ FSD is the only 3 config that could go over $60k, but it also drops from $2500 to $2000 on 12/3.

Its been discussed in this thread on previous pages. We're all very frustrated.

The way I see it is there is nothing to say or do to my SA to make it go faster. They will not announce any policy, like "if you ordered before the day the change was announced then we will give you a $500 discount to make up the difference" until they are unable to deliver by December 3rd. There are people at Tesla doing the math on whats more cost effective: Missing the deadline and giving $500 back, or changing the delivery schedule to prioritize CA.

If I get a $500 discount that would be a great show of good faith. However, I'm not holding my breath and taking solace in the fact I got my order in on October 29th, just two days before the car price went up $1,500.

Tesla please get me the car ASAP without cutting quality corners. This is going to be my wife & mine's commuting car. We do 400 miles a week in commuting!

So many SA saying so many different things. I talked to a SA at the Costa Mesa orientation, told me I ordered 10/01 and he said I should get mine by end of Nov. can’t rely on these SA. They’re probably getting information on this forum lol

It seems “early/mid December” is the answer to the majority of delivery questions, regardless of order date. It’s the standard reply. Clearly they are told from corporate to never make promises they can’t keep.

... the same corporate that promised “2-3” weeks on orders placed in late September.

In the broad scope of things, this will soon be forgotten, probably the moment we drive home in a Model 3.

I really hope they're under promising so they can over deliver. that would be awesome!

My gut says they will. At least for AW/LR trims, and probably for all.

One thing I DO know. Everyone who put a deposit down and doesn’t cancel WILL end up with a Model 3. And that’s not too shabby!

My son ordered a black a me a white a few days later. We an each send email to the Costa Mesa delivery inquiring about when. The same delivery specialist gave us different estimate delivery dates. Go figure. I don't think they know any more than we do. It's anyone guess.

According to the spreadsheet, SR+ with black interiors ordered in mid Oct are getting delivery dates in the east coast.

I was given a “last 3 weeks in December for all orders.” It seems that when we order is irrelevant. I guess the delivery schedule for California people is “get it when you can.”

I know. We all hear so many different things. If I were in Tesla management, I would give a minimum of information to SA’s because that will stop leaks that could be problematic. If we get our cars, we get our cars. If we don’t, we don’t.

I called my local Porsche dealer yesterday about a Taycan. The Taycan 4S (lower end) and the Turbo will be in the showrooms in December to look at. Supposedly they are slightly smaller than a Panamera. You can get on a list now for $2500, but when the order is actually placed it will be “more”. The Taycan is released in April, but deliveries will not start until next summer. They are first come, first served. My local dealer (Mill Valley, Ca) said they already have about 100 reservations so far.

I’m sure the Taycan will be grand - perhaps a bit on the small side. I think the basic MSRP is $104,000. At least the competition is showing up! The Taycan was designed to go against the Model S, not Model 3.

I gather there is some kind of Mercedes EV coming to the US next year. So the future is not all bleak for those of us who don’t get cars. I’d prefer a Model 3 now - but that is up to Tesla.

Umm you forgot about us who ordered the Model X and probably the people who ordered the P3. I ordered on 10/22. Tesla does need to prioritize California buyers. They should also probably delete the $2500 from the calculation of savings for those cars AND reduce it to $2000 for the rest of the cars as it also goes down for them. California should not have given such short notice AND should have had it end on 12/31/19. I suspect someone knows that Tesla "sends" cars to California last in the quarter and thus 12/3 would cause a lot of people to miss out.

My theory: Even if shipments within California don't start until late November/early December, that's still one hell of a logistics logjam considering the sheer number of California orders. All will be jammed into ten delivery centers. And then there's the holidays delaying things further.

Overseas production will stop real soon, or may have already happened. Given the massive shipping times into various ports in Europe and Asia, going through customs, then being unloaded onto carriers and shipped (in many instances) across a continent, then setting up and making deliveries... by the end of this year? There is (again) the holidays. Many continental European countries are deeply embedded into the Christian calendar and have a few more religious holidays than USA. All factors to be considered.

The shipments will continue to emphasize eastern locations and move westward from there. But that's not 100%. There will be some shipments made to western states (inc. California) to help mitigate the year end crush.

We will soon see some California VINs being parceled out, maybe as soon as next week. Later in the month and into early December, there will be an avalanche of VINs.

SA responses are all over the map. If one of them says "no California shipments until late December", they should immediately be written off.

I've been in sales and learned how to read people. I can easily tell if a person is talking out of their behinds or lying. I've talked to a couple of local SAs who gave me the impression of sincerity. They seems to know what they were talking about. So when they (unsolicited) tell me that a huge LR/AWD batch will happen in November, I am inclined to believe it.

All taken with a huge grain of salt, and I have no idea why one trim would start shipping before others. Maybe the production line can crank out LR/AWDs faster? Maybe a shortage of SR+ batteries and they want to wait for supplies to catch up? But all seem to think end of year deliveries will be made.

NOTE: Apparently this has been moved to another part of the board by a moderator, even though it really is about area-specific deliveries.

As is clear on the spreadsheet in the Model 3 section, the California deliveries (or even VIN assignments) are yet to happen, though other areas of the country are getting them.

California may be great - but it is apparently last!

Here’s what I just got from the Buena Park delivery office, FWIW:

    Hello Michael,

Yes we are on track for the Federal tax credit. The California rebate will be a little tougher to manager as we unsure when production will start for North America.

Unsure when production will start for North America? The eastcoast, midwest, & south has started receiving their Model 3's already & many members on here confirmed they got their delivery date already. Ya that just proves to me all the SA's have no clue what's going on up in Fremont.
