So my headlight has had water inside of it for 3 days now. How do I get it out?

I'm out of warranty, so don't really want to pay Tesla to deal with this. My headlights were fogging from the begining, I complained to Tesla, they told me it's normal, now that I'm out of warranty -- I suspect the fogging headlights had a seal broken/were defective, and I'm stuck with this.

Anything I can do to fix it myself?

That’s a lot of water.

I’d look to the salvage market and get a replacement headlight assembly on the used market. That’s probably the most cost effective way to do it, that assumes you can replace the unit yourself.

If you have to hire someone to replace it, that’s more cost.

I think you are right about the defective seal. I don’t know that it is worthwhile to try to disassemble the thing. I’m sure there are ways to drill, pipe dry air inside for a couple of days to dry it, then seal up the hole, but that won’t fix the underlying problem.

Thanks, just googled around, seems you need to redeploy the firmware for a new headlight.

Maybe 'normal' but not acceptable, I've not had lights fog since I had H4's in a 1970's car :D
Trust me I agree. The guy brought me in the back, and showed me at what level/degree Tesla considers fogging not normal. They also had pictures of other manufacturers cars with fogged lights and went "o, look, but it happens to them too!".

I was pissed, but didn't fight it too much. In hindsight, should have requested new headlights.

Photos from 2015, but the other side did the same thing.
