Alliance or Allianz? Geniune question because I will make some inquiries.
My enquiry quote with Allianz was $3,745 per year, 2017 P100D, always garaged, limited kms, no claims etc so you have done very well if that is the same company.
I've shopped around many times for mine because each year it becomes more painful when the renewal arrives, sadly I've either run into not going to cover it to more expensive than who I'm with.
Someone mentioned Rollin insurance, here's an example of the pain I am faced with, this was their...
This has been an interesting read. My 2017 P100D Model S renewal came in and was $600 more than last year (over $3K).
Turns out my agreed value was way above reality, but to be fair I don't check market value until it is time to sell the car.
Anyway reducing that agreed value down to something...
Unfortunately that won't work.
We have two cars that share the charger, the Tesla charge port on the left side and the charger is mounted pretty much inline with that, the other car has it on the right side. Moving it won't solve the problem, being able to reach the other car with the longer...
I was disappointed in this move but we RHD markets are the minority so I get it.
I was going to replace my P100D with a Plaid ever since they announced the 'real' steering wheel option was a thing, but that's been crushed.
I'm just hoping there will be something close the Model-S by whoever else...
Hi All, my current wall charger is about 6 years old, there's nothing wrong with it except it came with the short length charging cable which is a problem as I now want to share this charger with another car in the garage.
I see that Tesla now just supply them with a 7.3m cable, I don't suppose...
Just to close this one out, Tesla came out and replaced the battery with an AGM type, P/N 1480221-00-A = $232.
It also involved 'Vehicle configuration update' for the different battery type.
Great service, can't complain.
The GLC is great, we were hoping to be able to order the updated current 2023 model which has double electric range but Benz have decided no more Hybrids are coming to Australia so we got one of the final allotment of 2022 Hybrids being sold in Australia.
My Model S has had EAP from day one so...
We have a new GLC300e in our household and the cruise and auto steer on that is sensational, in this regard the competition has not only caught up they've sailed past. I don't trust my Model-S now to the point where I don't even engage the cruise control, too many hard phantom braking events...
So this is why our low beam is so poor, how annoying. What a shame you can't just fit the DS3 globes.
And a big 'what the?' with the ordeal to change a damn headlight, what was Tesla thinking.
Yeah all things considered to have the battery replaced in my driveway just over $300 is surprising.
As for BMW, I have owned one before. I never needed the battery changed but the pain of the brake costs (multiple times) was enough to convince me to never consider another one.
Thank you, I'd be more than happy to have it done for $300.
I've started the service process with them via the app but I couldn't book in a mobile service call, I've scheduled it with a (not so) local service center in the hope I can actually message someone to say I'd like the driveway service...
Hi Everyone,
My 2017 Model-S put up the 'Low Voltage Battery warning' tonight so it looks like I'm going to need that replaced.
I don't want to have it done at Tesla because this will be out of warranty and I imagine will cost a bomb (and I'll have to wait a while to get in and time is not on...
Hi everyone,
I am after some recommendations please on where to get a wheel alignment done on my Model-S.
I had four new tyres fitted late last year, the shop has had two goes at getting the alignment correct and it is worse than ever (the car was perfect prior to them touching it). I am not...
Yeah this does seem like a bit of an odd spot to put so many, maybe they do have the apartment dwellers of Box Hill in mind.
It looks like there is a lot of parking there but I'd put money on it being ICE'd regularly with a Repco right next to the charging parks.
Google tracks me just fine 😆, but is it the case that once outside Victoria those kms traveled don't need to be counted towards the money going back to Dicktator Dan?
Ok I figured out what it was for those that run into this, the problem is Tesla bugs.
If you have 'PIN to drive' active then it stops working even if you've done the PIN and turned the car on, as soon as I disabled that then the button on the end of the shift lever unlocks all doors again.
As I...
Hi All,
Maybe this issue is since my last software update to 2022.8.10.6 (I'm not 100% sure but it is only recently). When I am parked and want all four door handles to open pushing the button on the end of the shift lever doesn't do it like in the past. I can use the MCU screen to unlock...
I've did the 2022.8.10.5 update a few days ago, nothing appears broken with what I use.....Well aside from the terrible GUI they have now, I have been convinced for years that Tesla programmers do not drive these cars day to day.
Hi All,
For those in Melbourne, is Bob Jane in Doncaster still a good option for new tyres? Places I have called closer to me say they cannot do (or are too scared to do) an alignment but I seem to recall a few people on here saying that particular Bob Jane will do wheel alignments on Tesla...
Not only that, the hardware ran better, didn't lock up or have just half the functions working at any given time.
Midnightsun - "Tesla does listen and improves on complaints" - LOL, you must be new here. Let us know when the now broken for a year USB album art (simple) bug gets fixed.....I...
What year? I'm a 2017 with MCU1 so my updates are few and far between, but this 'bug' has been driving me crazy since they stuffed it up well over a year ago.
I set up the car as another user on my main Spotify account, this way I can log on to my PC and create playlists etc (so much easier).
In doing that I've noticed exactly what you've said above, there has been numerous times where I open a playlist, click on a song and what it plays isn't what...
I hope for the sake of you enjoying the car for many years you get used to this, but I think it highlights that this engineering change offers little to no benefit for the driver. If Tesla released a bike I bet the gears and chain would be around the front wheel with overly complex mechanics to...
That is what I have and my car sounds like a garbage truck stopping, it is not high pitched brake squeal, it is as others have said resonance somewhere.
It is so frustrating to see this happen over and over, their software QA is woeful, but unfortunately I think it is probably a reflection of the culture within rather than the individual skills of the programmers.
I've slept in the car overnight at the Port Macquarie Superchargers, plugged in very late at night and woke up at 5:30am 🤣 (lucky that was before they had idle fees).
Sorry but that is one of those "I don't want an EV because I can't drive 800kms without stopping" type comments, in your lifetime how often are you really going to be coming home from the peninsular at 3am with such a low battery that you couldn't continue on to any of the ones in the city if...
One of the priority deciding factors I reckon should be what are the chances of getting ICE'd? I see the first mistake is the car parks have not been painted green. Old mate in his EB Falcon or clapped out Land Cruiser will not give a toss about "Tesla Only" signs, the fully painted parks seems...
When I think back over the updates my MCU1 car has been getting I have to go back a long way to think about something that was a positive change. Most of the updates since MCU2 came out just continue to break existing functions whilst offering nothing new.
And most importantly people need to...
I know I shouldn't be so hopeful when these updates trickle out to the older cars, but USB album art still doesn't work with this update. I think we have to accept that has moved to 'never to be fixed' status.
Now the question is we know what they didn't fix, but what did they break?
Serious question (not necessarily a criticism), why do some US car makers persist with this lack of amber indicator lights? I think this is a US only thing from all the travels I've done.
If anything it bought Tesla some time to get many more cars outside the warranty period so it becomes YOUR problem (not that they considered this yellowing a defect to begin with anyway). I've had my screen running in dark mode since it was re-cured, maybe I need to switch back to daylight mode...
As an owner of a 2017 that has had perfectly working functions 'broken' with software updates I can confirm the list doesn't tend to get shorter over time either, it just stays broken or flagged as 'beta'....aka, broken.
Heatherbrae kind of sucks (at least last time I was there it did). The Motel was closed, the Caltex next door wasn't operational so we had to walk about 500 meters down to the Macca's along the muddy edge of the Pacific Highway, fun!
