That is encouraging. Tesla is definitely trying to teach me patience! I don’t want to wait 6 more week.. Enjoy your new MY.
Thanks. VIN is 30000 range. So it was probably manufactured in June and was sitting in CA or some other Tesla location and was transferred to NY. I hope the build quality will be good. Keeping fingers crossed.

I got the 8/6 text that said 3-6 weeks, but got a call today that they have a vehicle match and delivery is scheduled for next week! I ordered on 8/1: LR AWD, Pearl White, Black interior, tow hitch, no FSD. So excited as we have a road trip scheduled for next week!
What is your VIN?

Longtime lurker, first time posting. I ordered a LR AWD MSM w/o a hitch or FSD on Monday 8/4. Got a text yesterday that it would be ready for pick up next week on 8/11 and a phone call this morning that it will be ready for pick up tomorrow (8/8).

What is the build date on your order?

I’d bring a thorough checklist and a critical eye in this case.

well I went to pick up the car today and spent about an hour going over everything. I got very lucky I think, the only problems that I have found were a small paint blemish on the hatch and two scratches inside the door jam. Otherwise everything was aligned to a point where I had no complaints. Everything worked properly, the interior was clean and spotless just a couple of little spots of dust where they didn’t clean it properly. On the ride home no issues that I could detect. I will drive it a little bit more tomorrow and double check but I’m satisfied.

there was a couple who had a LR AWD white on white, Who told me they had repeated visits to the service center to get everything fixed it. It was the stereo typical quality control issue car that I was expecting to see. They looked at mine and said it looked great.

Congrats - looking forward to the pics. What VIN range/manufacture month is it?

Tesla site has 3-7 week delivery for All Vehicles. Seems like an excessive amount of time. Is there a chance that it is related to battery day? More range for all vehicles? or just Model S & X?

Not ordering a new car till later in the year or early next year but curious. Hoping they increase range across the entire line!

Model S 2013 owner here. Time to dump my 2013.

Ordered LR AWD (MSM/BW/20"/AP) 2 weeks ago, the only estimate I had was 4-8 weeks as on web site. Upload the docs I can at moment (DL, insurance) and select the way I pay for car (finance). Get delivery specialist assigned and that's all.

Today received a text message "We currently expect your Model Y to be ready for delivery 3 - 6 weeks from today"
Seems to be same as folks for RWD start receiving such message. Mine is AWD however, so that's quite confusing. No VIN or other docs in account.

So far folks who received their MY (even in TX) didn't received such messages. Either Tesla modify their notification system and now everyone will get in that way, or idonno..

Anyone else received recently such message?

yes I also received the below Text message this week:

Tesla Update - We currently expect your Model Y to be ready for delivery 5 - 8 weeks from today. We'll continue to provide updates as your estimated timing gets closer.

Please note that this timeframe is an estimate and may shift in either direction.

This is an automated message. For more information or to chat with us, please visit tesla.com/deliveryday

Don’t forget a hand mirror to check the underside!

Really?

Don't let all these "checks" kill the excitement of buying a new car! I mean, give it a good thorough inspection, but stay within the means and enjoy your new purchase rather than getting tense and nervous over it. The novelty of getting a "perfect" issue free car would wear off within days if not sooner as you start experiencing the thrills of owning and driving a beautiful car.

I ordered an paint thickness measurement tool from amazon just in case I see a paint difference between doors and/or other metal painted surfaces. It won't be just my subjective opinion.

I know one shouldn't read too much into all the Youtube vids, but I would rather not be the one to have a huge hole in my underside and fail to point that out for Tesla to service it, rather than have them blame it on wear and tear if I find it after the 7 day period. Just a quick glance underneath, not saying one should go crawling and inspect the entire underbelly.

Still waiting for my VIN. Frustrating to see others around me on the spreadsheet tracker get their VINs. How much of this is due to increase in orders due to the 3k price reduction? I know for myself, that was a major factor to lead me to finally pull the trigger.

im not sure if I can help but here is my model y order journey lol. I placed my order for my model y I didn’t get the performance model. I put my order in on 07/20/20 and literally later that day they were trying to schedule delivery but I was not ready to accept delivery I told my local Tesla dealer it was probably going to be a month before I was ready. I called the saleswoman I talked last week to see how long before I could take delivery she told me my order was on pre production or something like that and I could expect delivery around the end of September well this last Friday 08/07/20 I scheduled delivery for my model y i will take delivery on 08/14/20

We are all doomed then. A simple "mirror" check might not be enough if we are expecting major issues like gaping hole underneath the car. Might as well buy a Toyota if we are that worried, IMHO.
