What’s with the model 3 screen replacement cost?

The most recent thing I can find is it costs $1,900 to replace it

15 inch lcd screens only costs like $100 so why is the replacement cost so high even when you include labor
To add to the 'automotive screens cost more' comment. Think of the screen's living conditions. It's not like your laptop. It lives (and must reasonably function) in temperatures from -30F to +100F, and may sit(unused) at 150F or more. Its also a touchscreen, and must be bright enough to be seen in the sunlight.

Looks like pre-owned screens are around $300-500 on ebay.

Still seems high, outdoor TVs made to be in direct sunlight and weather costs less

Thankfully the failure rate doesn’t seem to be high
