Bought a pre owned X for my wife and found a couple of cables hanging from the rear view mirror area and a camera on the inside of the rear glass. Obviously, they're for cameras but what is the purpose for these, especially the rear facing one since the car has a backup camera. Also, was this OE or aftermarket? Thx.

My bet is it’s just camera. The rear camera does not work by itself. It is connected tot he front unit. The two cables in the front you have dangling: one is for power to the front camera, the other is for connecting to the rear camera. Take the rear camera out and see what brand it is. Looks like it could be a BlackVue.
