Literally every time I have tried to charge enough to skip a charger, somebody in the car has had to pee. By the time everyone else uses the bathroom for convenience and grabs their coffees and snacks, I am in exactly the same boat as if I had just planned for the additional stop in the first place.
The difference between 90% vs 100% for range is 30 miles give or take my long range model 3. It’s not enough difference to do this regularly for my 2019 model. So I usually charge to 100% every few months or times like the road trip to sequoia nations park where every mile matters. If there’s lot of chargers or enough chargers I don’t bother charging to 100%. So what’s the definition of long trip? Maybe if the difference between making the destination or not on one charge makes the difference
