I tried searching, I didn't find much. Just noticed this today, what is the little key/card icon next to the security icon? I have been having trouble with phone key lately, and rebooted the screen this morning.

4.11.2... just updated to 4.12, and I have the icon. I think you are right about the phone key.are you running version 4.12 of the mobile app?
Are you on Andriod?4.11.2... just updated to 4.12, and I have the icon. I think you are right about the phone key.
And thanks for making me check for updates- now I have to see why it wasn't auto updated.
Yes; AndroidAre you on Andriod?
I'm running IOS and the app is 4.12.1 and I don't have that icon.
Likely your phone. Do you have a Googke Pixel by any chance? I've read reliability issues with it and keeping bluetooth running in the background.Android version 4.12.1-1271
Phone key failed again today.
It is a newer samsung. I have had absolutly no phone key issues until about 3-4 weeks ago. Had the car about a year. Just very annoying. Hopefully it is car software related and will be fixed.Likely your phone. Do you have a Googke Pixel by any chance? I think it means your phone is not connected to the car via bluetooth. You should be able to confirm this under "security" in the app proper.
One thing I learned the hard way is not to close the Tesla App Also, if it crashes in the background, then it also won't work. Always good to check to see if the app is open and running on your way out. Annoying, I know.Weird thing is, phone key has been giving me trouble. Works about 50-60% of the time.
I mean... that makes sense, but I don't understand why the icon comes and goes randomly from the app throughout the day. My phone is configured as a key all the time. Doesn't make any sense.I think it indicates that your phone is configured to be used as a key.
It is/was a Android 13 issue. I had the problem initially when I upgraded from the Beta 13 I was running on my Pixel 6 Pro to the public build. It is much better now, I'm running the latest Android 13 developer build. As long as I allow the app to run in the back ground I have not had any issues. A13 is more aggressive in killing applications running in the background which is what has caused the problems in the first place. It is a newer samsung.
