What Went Wrong?

Well the day finally came. 79,600 miles in and I’m about to spend some money. Heading back from a work trip in Atlanta I went to charge in Chattanooga, came out after about 40 minutes and the car wouldn’t start. Randomly all kinds of alerts popped up. Now I am getting towed 120 miles before I even step foot inside service to see what went wrong.

Damn.

Probably one of the HV devices have failed, look for the codes …f071 and …w016 (…f - stands for fault and …w - stands for warning). My suggestion either battery electrical heater or cabin PTC heater. Good luck!

What year is your car? Warranty coverage?

Looks like your HV battery failed. I saw similar errors when mine failed. Should be covered by warranty, but you’ll probably be without your car for several weeks or more.

$900. ouch ! This is why I have the expanded AAA towing (up to 200 miles) as I travel long distances a lot.

No warning signs or strange behavior prior to the fail? Just quit like that all at once?
this always worries me a bit as I travel with the family on road trips, now that I’m reaching nearly 90K miles and over 5 years….
