Where are VIN numbers now?

I just ordered my Tesla M3 AWD on 4/19 and the VIN is F200xxx. Does the 200k VIN seem low or am I reading it incorrectly?

I have a 190k VIN that was manufactured in January and delivered late last month.

So i have a 200k VIN that was supposedly born on 4/14/19. Does that sound odd?

I haven't gotten the feeling that they issue the VINs strictly in order... it seems like it differs depending on which trim you order. But it's hard to know for sure, since we're relying on people to self-report, and it's hard to know if they mix up order date, delivery date, and construction date when they say "I have a March car" or whatever.

I would be surprised if an SR(+) was 2xxxxx and built in April, though.

It will show up in your Tesla account page. Sometimes it won’t show, and you can get a delivery date then it will show. Just all depends.

I read that our cars should have the HW3 hardware, if that's what you're referring to, but not sure how to verify that.

No idea. i have heard it is by the firmware version int he car. I do not think you can find that out until you get it

Picking my AWD LR Red Black Interior up on the 1st, my vin is 3650xx, they said it was being made two days ago. 200k series vin definitely sounds older.

VINs are not produced sequentially, they are assigned and then produced in blocks. It is entirely possible that the registered a block of LR VINS then further assigned blocks of specific colors within the larger block and then produced them in whatever order they needed to.

I ordered a showroom one yesterday with a 205xxx vin

Order mine (AWD/Red/White/19"/FSD) Thursday afternoon. In Atlanta and it says about 2 weeks. Seems like Elon time but the delivery specialist said that many combs where on the way and it should happen. Looking on the app (Leaderboard) it appears Atlanta is the largest market outside of Calf. so maybe it could happen.

About how long does it take to get a VIN assigned?

OK guess I will have to wait a few more days. Was your listed as a 2 weeks delivery and are you expecting it next week? Is the 2 weeks national or only in certain markets?

Mine was listed as 2 weeks. And yes, expecting it Thursday. No idea about each market.
