You would have to be going really fast and hit a stationary truck.

Agreed. That kind of front end impact damage on a city street generally indicates driver error.

The crashed car was not a total loss. It was repaired and re-sold by Tesla. Gigi bought an identical replacement - I last saw her driving it just a few months ago.
