Windshield tint will help with chipping and breakage?

Tesla Windshields seem to have a fair share of needing to be repaired or replaced? Agreed? Is a windshield tint a good way from experience to address that issue?

We get so few windshields cracked, that no one's experience is statistically significant, no matter how many miles we've driven.

Having said that, if your vehicle is lower to the ground and the windshield is large, it's going to get more rocks hitting it. More hits, leads to more cracks. A Tesla is low, with a low hood, and an extra large windshield, so getting hit is going to be more common.
