Would a surge protector be recommended for a home charger?

I really don't know how well they work, but would one of those whole home surge protectors be a recommendation for those who charge at home? Not sure the likelihood of a lightning strike bricking the vehicle while its charging.

Thanks to global warming, it's not going to get better. State Farm alone paid out more than 18,000 lightning claims in 2023 so it does happen although statistically, you are unlikely getting it.

That said, I would still get one. It's a few hundred dollars plus labor.
