Our first EV road trip - 5,000+ miles in the South West USA

We git our LR Y back in September but have only used it for local trips around the north Dallas area due to various challenges this year (very bad year for us so far).
We finally had a chance to go away and recover/relax so we decided on a route out to California and back and thought it would be wor...

Service Center won't/can't fix car [suspension - aftermarket suspension installed]

So I noticed my front right lateral link was loose, which is a relatively common issue on Model 3 (tow truck driver even said "i had the same yesterday") and there was even a recall for it previously, and reached out to Tesla to get some help. I initially asked if they could send someone to quickly...

5700 Mile Model Y Road Trip noob style

Sorry for the long post, I wanted to share our road trip experience as a positive example for other electric noobs like me. I have had a 2022 MYP since November 2021 and have over 13k miles on it so far.

I started in Sacramento early Saturday morning at 90 percent and drove to Salt Lake City the fi...

Squeaky /creaky driver's seat issue identified

tl;dr Sharing for people with the same issue: M3 driver's seat squeak is due to misaligned/rubbing seat rails. Proper fix is properly align the rails, less ideal/maybe temporary fix is add grease.

I've had an annoying creaking noise in the driver side seat that seems to come and go in my 2022 M3LR...

My comments on 2022 Tesla Model X PLAID

I took delivery of an April build of a 2022 Model X PLAID 5 days ago, and I have a few observations I thought this community might like to see. I had a 2020 Model X LR before this.

Things I like:
  • The UI is noticeably faster and feels like a totally different piece of software than v11 was...

Tried a FSD subscription. It's not worth it...

I bit the bullet and tried the FSD one-month subscription option for a 1700 mile road trip this past weekend in my 2020 Model 3 Standard Plus. My opinion: not worth it.

Full Self Driving is just a terrible name for what is essentially Autopilot+. I'd imagine your commute would need to involve nothi...

Vendor Bring On The Dirt Busters!

Tesla Shields is a small company started by Jason and Sebastien with the idea of manufacturing door sill protectors and morphed into manufacturing car mats only for Tesla’s. It is surprising how Tesla has not paid attention to their floor mats which is an important detail to most Tesla owners. The...

My first long trip

My experience on my first long trip

This post may be of interest to new owners . . .I will try to be objective.

The trip was roughly 200 miles south, then 100 miles east and then 200 miles north.

I started by charging my M3LR up 100% which showed me as having a range of 355 miles i.e. not the adv...

Tesla Has Redesigned Model 3 Air Filter Cover to Make Replacement Easier

I just did my first air filter change in my Model 3. I had watched several videos about how hard it was to unscrew the air filter cover, so I was prepared for a fight. But my September 2021 Model 3 SR+ has a redesigned air filter cover, with the screw at the bottom of the cover and the tab at the to...

Wiki Model Accessories Mega List / Cheat Sheet

I have compiled a list of all the Model Y accessories that I find useful, to possibly save other members the hours of research I’ve done, and lessons learnt from accessories that either did or didn’t work well on my M3.

I haven’t included items that I think are pointless, such as the screen protect...
