    Boombox Custom Sounds (not working)

Got it! The file name of the sound file can't have spaces in it. Changing "Jetsons Car.mp3" to "JetsonsCar.mp3" got it to show up in the list. To make sure it wasn’t a fluke I changed another sound file from "Terminator Theme.mp3" to "TerminatorTheme.mp3" and that one shows up now too.

    Boombox Custom Sounds (not working)

Wanted to start a thread for Model S owners having trouble with custom sounds in Boombox. Seems like some Model 3 owners have gotten it to work by doing the following: - Create a partition on an existing USB just for Boombox or use a separate USB drive - Format the USB drive as exFAT - Label...

No joy here. Formated a new USB stick in exFAT. Labeled the drive as "boombox" and put the mp3 files in both the root of the drive and in a directory called "boombox". Rebooted the center screen too and nothing. Note: I'm in 2020 Model S not a 3

Why do the performance variants have less range than the non-performance?

The difference between range as of today is 348 miles for the Performance and 390 miles for the Long Range version. What makes the performance rear motor different than the long range motor? Specifically, what's the technology that makes it a performance motor and thus makes it less efficient?

Slacker streaming starts halfway into song

I have the same problem and its been going on for a few months now. If I play a song frequently enough this ends up happening. I've also noticed that if I un-favorite or dislike the song that's having this problem it doesn't remember that. So the next time that song plays it's still marked as a...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

Sorry, for the late response. I didn't see this until today. No, my car doesn't have Chill mode. The Mobile Tech said the same thing and for a brief moment I thought I was about to do a face palm. But he looked and my car doesn't have it.

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

I will, just can't do the testing this weekend. On Monday or Tuesday I'll do the charge to 94% and 8 0-60 runs with powertools and post the results. As far as the other comments, I only charge to 100% when I need to. Unfortunately, for me that's more often than I would like because of my work...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

I think its software related. The mobile tech said he didn't see any errors but agreed that it was underpowered after driving it. He mentioned that it was possible something wasn't done right when my car was put back together at its last service appointment (my onbored chargers were just...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

Ok, I did a few 0-60 runs using the "Powertools for Tesla" app and here's what I got: In all the runs my power varied between 295kW and 302kW and never went up past 302kW. For some reason the app won't register a 0-60 time. When it does register a 0-60 time it says "-158804.." Because of...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

The mobile service tech just left. We did a test drive and he said "it should be better than this" but didn't see any errors in the computer to explain why its so slow. He advised that I schedule an appointment to take the car in to a service center. So I called the service center and scheduled...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

I don't have either of those but ill buy them today. The mobile tech will be here in an hour so I obviously wont have it for that ill make the investment and buy it. If I buy this will it work as the canbus connector and ELM327 bluetooth dongle...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

I couldn't find powertools (possibly because I'm on Android) but I did find an app called "Drag Racer" and just did a few 0-60 test runs with it. My BEST time was 7.6 seconds 0-60. My cars SoC was 90% and the battery was cold. 7.6 seconds is a hair faster than a Honda Fit EX which can do 0-60 in...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

Yea, I've gotten my under body caught on a lot of those parking bumps too. The acceleration issue is harder for me to quantify because I don't have any data from when I first bought the car to compare it to. But it certainly "feels" slower. I think the 0-60 time for my car was advertised as 5.4...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

My car has seen a many thousands of driveways haha. You should see my rear defuzer... Even at max ride height I still scrap on some of the drive ways I have to go up for work.

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

Well I found at least part of the reason why my range felt so bad that day. Yesterday on my way home I had my music turned off (which is a rare event for me) so when I pulled up my driveway I could hear something scraping that I didn't hear before. I got out and looked under the car and find...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

Ok good! So my math was wrong. My daily commute includes long up hill drives. I live in a higher elevation than work which is close to sea level and I admittingly tear up the roads getting to and from work. So 386wh/mi lifetime isn't surprising to me. Yesterday was just shocking because I was...

    165k Miles Battery Degradation

I need help. I'm trying to figure out how much my battery has degraded in the 5 years and 165k miles I've owned it. It seems like my range has fallen off a cliff recently and my 0-60 performance is just atrocious compared to what it used to be. The car just feels very weak over all and today I...

    Drive Unit Version

I just got a new drive unit installed today and its a Q version. So I guess that's still the top version. The Q drive unit replaced the N version that was installed in 2015 which was a replacement for the B version that originally came with my car. For the record I have never broke down...

    Tesla... the Future? No longer...

You nailed it right on the head! I've had my car for 3 years now and about 4 or 5 months ago I had the same mental shift in thinking. Now I look around and I feel like I'm surrounded by Model T's headed to the scrap yard.

Model S an Absolute Bargain in 0-60 Comparison

I know the Model S is a total bargain compared to other performance/exotic cars, but I wanted to see the actual numbers and this is what I got. (Note: all prices are base prices without any options added) Kind of nuts considering it has excellent storage, you can seat up to 7, "fill up" for...

3 day old import P85D crashed while using TACC

You shouldn't have to sue anyone. Just let the insurance company work that out. I got into a similar accident back in 2013 and the insurance company did all the talking and negotiations for me. Because ultimately it's the insurance company that has to pay for it. If they feel that they...

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

I did. I was spending an average of $746 a month on gas. But now that I have the car I wouldn't care if it was at $2 a gallon. It's just damn convenient to wake up to a full tank every morning, not to mention all the other benefits. Heck, its just nice not to care what gas prices are, and no I...

Electric Cars Pollute More Than Gas Cars - National Bureau of ER Says

I agree, we have to fight fallacies with facts, otherwise we lose credibility. I didn't know the energy used was from steam, I thought it was actual consumption. I wonder if we could crowd fund our own study that debunks this. Personally, I'm tired of explaining it and would donate money just...

Historical Data on Used Model S's Sold

That was it! That's what I was looking for, the EV CPO Consolidator I just couldn't remember what it was called, and your right. The last time I looked at it, it would show historical information but now it looks like it does in deed need a subscription to see it :( Still helpful Thank you...

Quality problems; "veteran members" tell us, how significant are they?

I think the cost of body repairs vary widely on location and experience. Here in LA the costs are comparable - if not down right cheaper - then that of any other car. I was in an accident a few months ago and the the cost to replace my rear bumper, front bumper, rear diffuser, rear under...

    I'm Out....

SMAC - What happened to you echos some of the complaints I remember reading back when the Model S first launched here in the US. Some hung in, others jumped ship. I hope you give Tesla another chance sometime in the future. Like you, I reserved my car months before production started, but I...

    Tesla PowerWall without Solar

I know... I want solar, I need solar, but it will be awhile before I get it. I could write paragraphs on the topic of why I have to wait. I'm not happy about it, but at the moment and for the foreseeable future it just doesn't make sense. That's all I'm going to say :)

    Tesla PowerWall without Solar

I work from home several days out of the week, so the majority of my usage is during the peak day time hours. Especially in the summer when the AC is on. It was the hour between 4:00 and 5:00PM on a Thursday in August 2014. It was 101 outside so my AC was probably on full blast. I don't...

    Tesla PowerWall without Solar

Let me start off by saying that the Power Wall combined with Solar is the best solution by far. However, if you're like me and you haven't converted to solar yet, I think investing in a Power Wall without Solar is still a very smart investment. Here's why: I have a separate meter for my car...

So I unintentionally almost ran out of energy yesterday, lol I was driving home from Las Vegas using the new 6.2 Navigation software. The 85 does not make sense with the release of the 70D

Just from a production stand point, I don't see the regular 85 being something that Tesla would want to keep producing. If the 70's are mandatory Dual Motors then I see the 85's becoming mandatory D's too.
