    Model Y - Test Drive

I received an invite for a test drive at Thorpe Park and have one booked for the 22nd Jan. I assume this is because a couple of years ago I attended a Model 3 test drive event before ordering. I am actually considering a Model Y LR to replace our Model 3 LR in a years time when it goes back...

    Ride Quality M3LR

I find the ride comfort on our LR pretty good. It replaced an Audi A6 Allroad with air suspension and its definitely not as comfortable as that was. But I don’t think it’s too far off though and it’s certainly massively better than the Mini Cooper S with run flats that we used to have. That felt...

    New Winchester Service Centre

I have the common problem of constant condensation in one of the rear lights of my 6 month old Model 3. If I try to book it in for repair they offer me one of the London service centres and no ranger option. Winchester is 10 minutes from where I am in the Test Valley so I’m waiting patiently for...

Maingau - Ionity price increase 1st Sept

Had the same email and haven’t used my card yet either. I got it a month ago as back up for a holiday in France. As it turned out it wasn’t needed as we found plenty of free 11kw chargers in public car parks where we went (Alps) so simply topped up for free whenever we parked and used...

Expected Lifetime of a Home Charger

I had an untethered Polar charger fitted in 2014 (fully funded by a £1k grant at that time!). It was used from 2014-2016 for a BMW i3 company car. I then changed jobs and didn’t have access to a car scheme and went back to ICE cars. I switched off the charger at the main switch so its sat idle...

Tesla Model Y review by MKBHD

Never seen this guy before but I thought this was excellent. Really calm and intelligent review, very balanced about what is good and not so good about Teslas. Thanks for sharing.

    Two little stories

Kids definitely like Teslas. Took my 11 year old son to football training in it last week. In the car park one of his team mates was walking past and when he saw my son get out the car called across “Wait what! You’ve got a Tesla?! Dad, they’ve got a Tesla!”. The dad came back for a look at it...

    16A Commando cable

I’m after the ability to use the granny charger where there is a Shuko socket as a back up. Driving to the French alps and I want the option of using either slow charging at the property or using Shuko sockets on the limited number public chargers, most of which are listed on Plugshare as having...

    16A Commando cable

Is the 16a blue commando cable still meant to be supplied as standard? I was just looking what I need for travelling to France and having checked my granny charge cables for the first time since I collected the car in March and all I have is the mobile charger and a uk plug connector. No...

    Navigation Update 2020

Since 2020.28.2 and the map update my car now thinks the speed limit through my sleepy rural Hampshire village is 60mph. My 11 year old son thought it was hilarious that the Tesla would blast through the village at 60 if on autopilot. Can’t say I found it so funny!

    [UK] 2020.28.x

Had 2020.28.2 since last week and it’s definitely seems to have sorted out the reduced charging rate issue for me too.

    Condensation in rear lights

My left rear was quite fogged up for a couple of months. Much to my surprise when I cleaned the car yesterday I noticed it has cleared up. Somewhat reassuring that it can clear up over time.

    Genuine Question

I haven’t done any modifications to mine at all (LR 3 months old), not even the number plates. Maybe the fact that it’s a salary sacrifice lease car is something to do my attitude but frankly I cannot be doing with messing about. It’s a very good car as it comes and I enjoy driving it as it is...

Return of phantom 16 amp charging

Oh, like others above I’m getting an error message when I try to book a service appointment. It has worked before for me on the app so seems to be yet another bug.

Return of phantom 16 amp charging

Came here to see if I was alone. I updated to 2020.12 a week ago. First charge last week was fine but woke up this morning to find the car still charging when normally it would be finished and speed at 4kwh rather than the usual 7kwh. This is a Podpoint charger that has worked flawlessly on an...

    Sentry mode borked?

Mine too. I can activate sentry mode but it never seems to record anything when I leave the car, eg overnight. On a just a couple of occasions it’s been active and lights have flashed when I approach the car to warn me it’s actually recording. If I try to play back though I get video...

Leased M3 - should it show in my Tesla account?

Same boat with Zenith. Car not showing in my account and supercharger referral didn’t work. I can use superchargers though with debit card details I added to the account. I booked a service appointment for the car to sort out a panel gap and the confirmation was addressed to “Dear Zenith...”. Ah...

    Lockdown

There is simply no way the case numbers can be correct in my humble opinion. I live in a small rural village in Hampshire and out of 200 residents, 3 have been confirmed as having corona virus. They all live a good distance apart, are different ages and don’t really know each other or socialise...

Plug-in car Grant now £3000 (was £3500) for cars under £50k

Lots of uncertainty. Guess Tesla may honour pricing for current order pipeline taking it on the chin and change pricing for all orders from today. We'll see.

Plug-in car Grant now £3000 (was £3500) for cars under £50k

Agree, this change has stitched up Tesla. Then again they fleece UK customers compared to US pricing so they might be forced to reduce their Model 3 pricing and margins in the UK to fall below the £50k limit or they risk a significant drop in orders.

Plug-in car Grant now £3000 (was £3500) for cars under £50k

Wonder how this impacts cars on salary sacrifice leases. My M3 LR is over £50k due to the addition of a towbar. I ordered on 4 March based on a quote at that date and have collection scheduled for 18 March. Zenith small print says something like the quote when ordering can be subject to change...

BIK rates finally confirmed? - Budget 2020

A friend works in the fleet industry and share this article which confirms that the BIK rate is 0% on ZEVs whether registered before or after 5 April. Budget 2020: New company car tax rates announced

BIK rates finally confirmed? - Budget 2020

The policy document published today says "Drivers of zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) under both the NEDC and WLTP procedure will benefit from the zero percent for the tax year 2020 to 2021.". Seems pretty clear to me that they are implementing 0% for all ZEVs from April regardless of registration...

    Zenith Orders

I ordered a white M3 Long Range with towbar via Zenith salary sacrifice on 4 March. I was sent an email by Tesla to set up an account a couple of days later. Apart from my contact details my account is blank though. I asked our Zenith contact by email for my RN and they replied that they would...
