Did they request a specific date time of the event? The SC team here requested timestamp, I assume for them to study the log files for repeated resets. I am suspicious of just relying on self-reported diagnosis, since forced hard reset may not allow the software to explicitly log the issues...

From the center console issue I've learned to collect information from other owners before chasing this issue down with SC. Are you familiar with FixYourTesla.com? They used to have what appeared to be official manuals in parts removal and replacement, but they have since removed it.

Tech confirmed the fix is in 2021.44, but apparently the alleged fix did not resolve your issue since you're on 2021.44.6

That's not encouraging, I was told by tech that 2021.44 would fix this bug. I'm on 2021.36.8.10, so I couldn't test it out yet.

This is just dumb. For next step, they requested 2-3 days for diagnosis at SC. I declined this path until a clear, defined solution is found. Already invested 10 hours in transportation and 4 days of diagnosis

Service center confirmed that this is a firmware bug, and is resolved in 2021.44, which is unavailable for me just yet. @iandkirby looks like you are still having weird issues in 2021.44.5 though

Thanks @Devinsmg. Note my crashes occurred when the system is not running any application. I did observe the abrupt reset loop becomes more likely over time during Supercharging, but the first reset loop I encountered was during charge from 71% to 86%, or 15kWh.

I agree with your assessment. It feels like a computer crash when it's out of memory. I suspect some computation regarding charging, since the continuous crash doesn't stop until charging is stopped? My 3 and S MCU both crashed once or twice during charging with heavy use, but I never noticed...

Update: - updated firmware to 2021.36.8.9, no fix - SC removed console and investigated with the electricals, no fix, instead scratched the leather - SC replaced top portion of center console, no fix, instead scratched the carbon fiber trim and magnetic closing on the armrest no longer work

Did the problem occur spontaneously? Did you have a USB inserted? You can call the service center and speak to a person directly, but that requires some key pad navigation.

I'd say after about 70% of my visit, I will find damages during detailing, such as scratches or cuts on the leather of interior trim. I brush it off and consider those damages as wear and tear since eventually it will probably be damaged. As for this paint damage this time, it's completely...

Did you get an update since delivery? My car arrived with 2021.36.5.1. Tech tried to flip the connections after extracting the console to no avail, thus it is possible this LED is controlled by a control unit. I suspect an update could fix this issue through a deep reset

Update: They opened up the center console but cannot resolve this issue. They will need to escalate this problem and follow up in the future

My Plaid has been in the shop for over 24 hours for troubleshooting the inverted LED switch in the center console. Now I suspect they delegated this issue to day shift only, hence leaving it overnight with no progress.

I was told Raven Model S had redesigned components including suspension. Do you know if the 21 Model S had major redesign as well?

SC is now opening up the center console to find the flipped switch. Apparently duration of this process goes into night shift. Tedious work for one flipped switch! I thought all switches are supposed to have asymmetrical locking mechanisms to prevent this

SC just responded that frontal headlights are not completely sealed to allow the headlight to breathe, and slight humidity is normal. It is out of spec if water condensation start to form. Is this substantiated? I never heard of the need to allow headlights to breathe in any other vehicles...

I noticed in my new Model S Plaid the center console light turns off if you fully open the sliding lid. Is this expected behavior? Intuitively the light should turn off when the lid is fully closed, and light should turn on when half-closed or fully opened

I agree with this. None of my Honda Civics and Accords do this. No shame in admitting manufacturing deficiencies or lower spec relative to other manufacturers
