Just got a text message. 10am Saturday Alexandria prick up. Could have got it on Friday but the mrs wasn’t keen on taking time off work… :(

My M3 order still has the old wording and website design. The Y is the only one that’s changed

    Thanks Dave!

Sorry guys haven’t been paying attention, but what does RAV mean? I assume it’s some sort of trucking or compliance tracking system?

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Maybe It could come in both dual motor and RWD. If I had a family and wanted an EV with range, I would be happy with a RWD LR if it means we can make the family road trip distance. I think MY buyers are a lot less performance focused than the M3 market. Also the general public doesn’t really...

My theory is that will be the LR MY.. Will keep the price/range ratio within the realm of affordability.

Without knowing the situation, there are some instances where your personal income exceeds your company income e.g. a property sale, investment income, inheritance or the company isn’t making much money for whatever reason.. a good accountant will guide you on this subject to your current...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I changed my invoice to SG fleet from my personal name. No issues at all so far. But I didn’t change the registration name, so that could be a sticking point… just ask I suppose.

They must be on a ghost ship.. I’m picturing the black pearl from pirates of the Caribbean but with a bunch of stark white teslas on it.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

That’s interesting. Did you VIN change? Maybe someone ahead of you cancelled? I have the same order time as you but no change to delivery dates
  12. C

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Do you get a choice of days or are you expected to drop everything and show up when they tell you to?
  13. C

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I got my VIN allocated late last night but my build date is the 30th of June, not the 31st. Totally meaningless other than the fact it took 24 hours to allocate my vin.

Same! They must have booked us a speed boat.

Model Y vins are happening today… makes me think M3’s aren’t too far off.

I was in the same boat until they changed the rules for novated leasing so I let my macquarie finance lapse. Paying 5% now but once the tax benefits kick in, I’m better off. If anyone qualifies for novated leasing through their work, they should speak to their accountant about it because it’s...

It’s definitely fixed for the life of the loan once the loan has started. If your car takes longer than 6 months to arrive, they won’t hold your 4.99 and you’ll be charged whatever the rate is 6 months from now.

I heard it on “The Tesla Space” on YouTube. They may have confused the FCC approval because it is approved for “moving vehicles”

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

They recently got approval in the US to connect the cars to Starlink. Do that would reduce the load. But your point is still valid.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

@jacksyd2022 block out the negativity mate… just focus on your car rolling off the production line. Hopefully mine rolls off shortly after

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Todays the day. I can just feel it. Maybe I should buy some crystals and start laying them around the house.
  27. C

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I think that’s the most likely outcome. If we don’t see vins in the next few days, we’re waiting until next quarter. But I am optimistic that they will have some Y’s ready otherwise they wouldn’t have front loaded all the Perth orders. You wouldn’t front load them if there wasn’t 2 ships within...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

According to a quick Google, the Morning Clara has a draught weight of 18,000 tons. At 2tns a car means it’s theoretically 9,000 car capacity. Takeaway 3,000 cars for fuel.. leaves you with 6,000. It’s unlikely Tesla can book 80% of the ship, but it’s at least theoretically possibly for a...

Would you buy EAP? I rented a Tesla with FSD in the US and I found auto lane change and free way exits to be very effective.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Same. Do we even know if it’s 12:30? I feel like we collectively decided 12:30 was the time they came through but I’m yet to see any evidence…

QUICK! let’s all blindly believe him and start ordering more accessories with express shipping! But low key, hope he’s right.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

100% you should take it off and put it on after delivery… if you intend on novated leasing it, having a car over the LCT threshold will ruin it for you. LCT (when I was in car sales in 2012) is 33% tax above the LCT threshold…. It will save you quite a bit.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Totally agree- they’re cool. If you want to be talked out of it, the downside is that you need to hack at the original sills with a pry tool. So you better be handy if you want to avoid paint work damage. Handy, I am not. Also, they have an internal battery which, once it runs out, the entire...

Unless it matches the changes they made to the Berlin and Texas made cars. Minor tweaks to the heat pump mounting layout, parcel shelf and a tweak to the seats from memory.
  35. C

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

It seems like Tesla gets a batch of parts from its suppliers or internal manufacturing and simply optimises the infantry with what they produce next. That’s why I think the order of production is quite strange and unpredictable.
  36. C

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Very lucky to get a 12:30 order this early.
  37. C

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Why would you want to add Autopilot prior to delivery? You just pay more delivery and stamp duty costs. Buy it when you pick up the car.
  38. C

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Agree!^^^ Wagga is a stone throw compared to WA & SA.. Anyone else need some (probably false) optimism? Optimism dealer here 😎 *Just don’t blame me when it’s all wrong*

Soz I mean east coast cities. Don’t wanna start a turf war here!

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Not sure if anyone else has theorised this yet, but here is my uneducated and unjustified opinion of why eastern seaboard vins haven’t been allocated yet/aren’t being prioritised. I reckon they are making all the cars we need (or at least the bulk of them) but are only allocating VINs to owners...

First we’re learning about ship draught heights, vehicle production lines, battery chemistry and now we’re moving onto JSON web coding? I’m excited to see what we learn next. My masters in applied finance was a walk in the park compared to this.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I haven’t seen any across any forums. Looks like they only produced for 2 days- the 28th and 29th based on build dates on invoices. Probably going to go quiet for the next few weeks while the production lines are closed.. I was still expecting to see some M3 Vins, but that’s gone silent too.
  46. C

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

In my experience, the RWD Y is slow off the line, but once your above 30km it flies right up to 100 in no time.
  47. C

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

You’d think after 5 months my faith would wane… still going strong! If I don’t get a car by October, that’s when I’ll relinquish all hope.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Quiet day eh peeps? I was really confident on getting a VIN today. Alas, the wait continues.
  49. C

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

The model y is a seperate production line so they should come out concurrently rather than sequentially.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Did you only just get notified/check? Wondering if the Vins are coming out sporadically or in bulk.
