I went ahead and got the repair. They originally quoted me $310 after taxes. However, I told them I wanted to use my same door handle since it’s wrapped and that I shouldn’t be charged for another handle if I’m using the same one. They agreed and adjusted it to $236. It was done by mobile service.

Well it started working again this morning. When it does get stuck It doesn’t make a sound when trying to open. For some people it does I guess. It’s almost as if it loses connection/communication or something. Weird. Usually needs a day and it works again. We’ll see…

UPDATE: So far so good. I e noticed the supercharging is faster. It does slightly use more energy than previous. I’d say I get between 2-2.5 miles per 1%. Should be about 3miles. However, I do have the MCU2 so that may be taking extra energy. Starts up quick. No major issues since It broke down...

I did find out from the service center that they capped the 90kwh battery to an 85 like my old one. Apparently I have to pay to open up to full 90. 🙄 not sure how much.

They just got done installing a new pack! Brand new 90kw and then this happens! Doesn’t make sense.

It happened while my wife was driving. Completely shut down. Hopefully it’s not the DU. I can’t afford another 8-10k. Luckily they gave me a loaner. The least they could do. Do you all think it was something different all along??

I think the DU was replaced in 2019 under warranty

No, I did not confirm. It’s on the paperwork. I didn’t check the actual battery. Not sure what it could be. Was working fine for a while till I got home and then went out again. Broke down on the highway.

Well he said the regional manager has to sign off on it next week to approve the price adjustment of the new battery. I guess their mistake..? Regardless, I’m paying 13k either way. I’ll take a closer look at the final invoice.

UPDATE: They said they would push an update by tomorrow so I can have my credentials back. Hopefully it works!

UPDATE: I decided to just bite the bullet and go for a reman 90kw battery. They installed it a couple days ago and called today saying it was ready and that they actually put in a new HV battery rather than reman. SC said they will adjust the price from 17K down to the original estimate which...

Nice. What exactly did you say to them and how did they fix it? Was it an easy over-the air fix? I asked my service center and they didn’t really address it. I’ll have to be more firm about it and say it CAN be done.

Yes, it is under streaming, but it was under Slacker. Slacker were the ones who provided that service. Now with the update to MCU2 it completely logged me out, like yourself. It won’t let me use the car’s account. Very frustrating.

Yes it was capped by Tesla right after I upgraded to MCU2. Really strange. It got an error after MCU2 made a scan of the health of the car. Says I now need a new battery. They said it was something the MCU1 was unable to catch. 🙄
