I am confident that it is the red color causing the delay. A few days ago, someone on the group visited the Fremont factory to pick up his car. He went around the parking lot and shared his observation about the inventory. He said the red colored cars were the least of all as per his observation.

There is a MYLR Red/Black/19 showing in Denver inventory right now. If it is on ground, I would try to take it if I were in your place.

At least $1500. Look at it this way: When you pay $2000 extra for the induction wheels, you are not getting the 19" wheels/rims/tires that you already paid for in the base price.

Best value for money (least profitability for Tesla) is the W/B/19 vehicle. That's why I went for it ;)

They cannot change SR to LR with software upgrade as the battery in SR has less storage capacity. Its a hardware thing. If I were you I would make sure if its LR or SR.

Agree. I was in the market for a lexus but ended up with Tesla because it will save me $9500 through tax credits. Another reason to go with an EV was that I hate to refuel at gas stations in winters here in Denver. Its not a luxurious car but its a technology car.

Congrats. Happy you didn't remove your charger and waste money you spent on the accessories. I also have a lot of accessories including the ceramic coating sitting in my home and I could feel the pain.

Just keep in touch with them. Text every 2 days or so asking for a kind update or if they can match you to another vehicle. Hopefully the tax credits won't change through March. Getting it on 20th is still better than getting it in April/May. Good Luck

Don't worry about the serial number. Its very much possible someone could not take delivery because of finances or cancelled the order later on before taking delivery. Just look at the vehicle yourself and accept it if there are no majore issues. They can fix the minor issues later.

I went to Tesla a couple of days ago and discussed my options with the SA. There was only one vehicle showing in inventory but the SA told me it will arrive at the location on 12th March. So, at least sometimes, the vehicles showing in the inventory are also not there physically.

Both of you are in Texas where the Austin factory is. You will have your cars by end of this month for sure. Tesla tends to delay deliveries to areas closer to the factory and fulfill those orders close to quarter end. For now, I hope they are planning to build my car and ship to Colorado :p

I always suggest go and personally meet an SA at your closest Tesla location. If you edit your build to match the invenory vehicle, it should automatically get assigned to you and the original base price that you ordered at should be honored.

Did you edit your design to match the one in inventory and got the assignment or did you place a new order for the inventory vehicle? If you placed a new order then the old base price won't be honored but if you edited your design to match it then it will be honored. If you placed a new order...

I remember someone in a similar situation on this group. He had VIN assigned but the car was to be delivered on a date he was not in town. He went and signed everything and had his daughter pick up the car on the delivery date. Chat with your SA.

The only reason for dumping SRs could be higher margins on the 4680 cells. P.S. Its amazing how my EDD never changed.

Don't think you need to to have any specific number of posts to create signature. Click on your profile at the top and create a signature under 'Account Details' on the left.

I feel too many people have EDDs in March that will not be met and the deliveries will go into April. For myself, I anticipate that if I don't get VIN assigned in a week or 10 days, I won't be able to get the car by end of March. There is an MYLR W/B with 20" rims available in inventory here...

The cars that came into Denver inventory were standard range AWD. LR is also AWD but with longer range. usually when people mention AWD on the forum, they mean standard range AWD because Tesla calls the standard range ones AWD. So what I am asking is basically if its ling range or standard range :)

4k. In my opinion MYP does not offer the value for money for that extra 4k. Other than slightly better acceleration, parts like spoiler, brake caliper covers and aluminum pedals can be installed DIY for no more than 1k. Also MYLR has better suspension and ground clearance

News: A Tesla SA told someone that all vehicles will qualify for full tax credit for deliveries until 31st March. Guess we will find out soon enough.
