How is .40/.42 AP2 doing for you?

The .42 FW is by far the best release for me so far. Previously I had problems with the car cutting the inside of curves but now it stays quite centered in the lanes. It even manages to stay on course with bad or even absent lane markers. The photo below is from my daily commute from a section...

    2017.32.6 ca28227

I have a problem with AP that I think was introduced with this release but I'm not absolutely sure it was not present earlier: When the road turns, the car does not stay centered but rather hugs the inside lane, sometimes even crossing the lane marking. The strange thing is that the car seems...

    Autosteer disabled after 3hrs?

I have the exact same experience. We've just returned from our first roadtrip (6000 km through Europe) and did some long legs to cover distance. The disappearance of AS was triggered by the combination of two things; 1) driving for more than 2:30 hours and 2) disengaging the AS by manual...

Always open fully at this location?

I tried holding down the comletely open button but to no avail - the pop-up window does not appear. So either they removed the function in 17.17.17 or it's not available in the European edition.

Always open fully at this location?

OK, thanks. I will make a new try tomorrow. My car is brand new, took delivery two weeks ago. 100D, AP2, SW 17.17.17.

Always open fully at this location?

I do not get this pop-up window. What you say is described in my manual, but it never shows.

Always open fully at this location?

We have a parking garage at home with a low ceiling so the FWD detects that and do not open fully. However, there is actually room for them to open all the way although with just a few inches to spare. I can force them up by overriding the opening height on the center console. According to my...

    New FWD switch design

They are both metal rings, hinged at one end and that can be pulled out with your fingers. The FWD handle differs in that it can also be pushed in. The logic is somewhat reversed though, since with the FWD you push to open, while at the front door you pull to open.

    New FWD switch design

I think the original FWD (inner) handle was designed to look similar to the front door handle, just rotated 90 degrees.

"Deus Ex Machina" or "Hux Flux" (hasn't decided yet).

Excellent! Thank you for the update!

    Flood light in non-PUP cars?

I noticed from the recent road trip video by Bjorn Nyland that there is light behind the speaker grilles in the FWD. With the doors open the light illuminates the ground around the car. I think it was a nice touch and I can see it being useful when loading and unloading the car in the dark. Do...

Let's Meet ModelXBoy V2, I call it Iron Man Edition!

MC red with white interior and carbon trim is the same exact configuration I'm currently considering myself. I worry that it might be too flamboyant, but it sure looks striking! I'd love to see it IRL before deciding.

    Ventilated Seat air movement test

I find the whole concept of ventilated seats confusing, regardless of the direction of the fan. Wouldn't the air pass through the holes in the seat that are not covered by your behind? How does your body get exposed to the air at all if the perforation beneath it is blocked?

    Ohmman's Model X - A One Month Perspective

Interesting comments on the limited legroom for the front passengers. I noticed the same during the "Meet Model X" event here in Sweden. No one else seemed to support my observation at the time, so I thought I was mistaken. I guess it is a consequence of the canopy being shifted forward compared...

    Red Multicoat Model X Photos

I'm looking for photos of MC Red with Black Onyx wheels. My idea is that black wheels will tone down the presence of the intense red color on such a big car, but it's only a theory. Curios of how it would look.

    Model X Range

Has there been a comparison of range between the 20" and 22" wheels? I do like the look of the 22" wheels on that big car, but if the penalty on range is significant I will reconsider.

Any cars without the premium interior package?

Did anyone take delivery of a car without the premium interior package? I could live without the additional functions it offers and would actually prefer not to have the perforated seats (easier to keep clean), but I worry about how it affects the look of the exterior and interior. The...

Midnight silver metallic on the model x??

Nice looking car! This is the first time I see the Helix wheels on an actual car. What interior trim did you go with?

    Production Model X Deliveries

Interesting. The two silver (?) cars do not have fog lights. I guess that is how they look without the premium package.

The automatic spoiler should be an option for 90D

When I select the 90D configuration in the Design Studio, it shows a spoiler very similar to the active spoiler in its extended position. It disappears in the illustration when I select the P90D. So it is unlike the spoiler on Model S. Perhaps a "maximum range" version will be offered in the...

The automatic spoiler should be an option for 90D

The automatic spoiler is currently only available for the Model X P90D(L) configuration, where it is included in the base price. Currently, the 90D (and presumable the 70D) comes with a fixed spoiler only. I think the automatic spoiler should be offered as an option for the 90D because: The...

    Question on White Seats

Can the ultra-white interior be configured without the premium package, and hence without the perforated seats? I ask because only the black headliner is valid in combination with the white interior for color matching reasons, and I believe the black headliner is only available with the premium...

    6 seat vs. 7 seat

In the 6-seater, would it be possible for a person to lay down in the middle when the third row is folded? I like to sleep in the car on long distance driving.

Model Xs in Buena Park Showroom & Service Center

They threw the metal signs on the seats rather than in the trunk? That would probably be outside the design envelope of most interiors. Still, no such damage was observed on the leather interiors (assuming they were subject to the same abuse). I initially got concerned when reading the...

Model Xs in Buena Park Showroom & Service Center

Mark, thank you for sharing. Your observation on the fragility of the synthetic seat material convinced me to go with leather interior when it is time to configure my X. It is a pity though, I really like the contrast of the white. My current ride is a Mercedes E with black synthetic and...

Strategy for timing a Model X delivery

It is done, I put down the deposit today! The website predicted delivery second half of 2016 in Europe which sounds highly unlikely. I actually hope for summer of 2017. If it arrives much earlier I will be in trouble. According to the written terms, I'm only allowed to defer once. It is not...

    Random Model X sightings

Has there been any sighting of a silver Model X yet? I am curious on the looks of the silver with tan interior and black headliner. The MC red seems rare as well, only sig red so far. Edit: Just saw two MC red in the "flock"-thread. The silver is missing still.

Strategy for timing a Model X delivery

My next car will hopefully be a Model X. The wait is currently long, but that doesn't bother me since I don't need the car until June 2017 when my curren lease expires. But I do want to nail that specific point in time; if I receive the new car earlier, I have the expense of two cars, and if I...

    Interior color and kids

Thank you all for the input on this matter. The potential sensitivity to scratches and pins of the vegan seats will probably stear us towards a compromise, i.e. the tan leather interior. I am still puzzled by the lack pictures of the Model X with tan iterior; has the color gone out of fashion...

    Interior color and kids

I have observed that a majority of the Model X cars (founders) that have been pictured so far seem to feature the new ultra-white interior, followed by black and lastly of tan. I have only seen one car with tan interior so far. I think the white interior looks very nice, but I wonder how well it...

Reactions to Model X reveal event

We don't know that. Maybe Tesla was working 24/7 to get the car ready within Q3 to please the investors, and everything else became secondary. Or maybe the release was completely decoupled from the product as you suggest. I was just offering my reflection that I can have oversight with a bad...

Reactions to Model X reveal event

Tesla vs. Apple etc Between a polished and well rehearsed presentation of the (re)invention of the watch, and a geeky, improvised, and somewhat unprofessional presentation of a serious contribution to sustainable transportation, I know what I would choose. I buy into the vision and the passion...

Configuration of 2 captains chairs and 6 seats is available now.

I noticed that the Tesla Motor website lists the "Ultra White Seats" as an option (in addition to tan and black). It seems that this color replaces the gray from the Model S and is not restricted to Founder and Signature editions after all.

    Does Elon drive customized Teslas?

Would Elon Musk drive standard off-the-shelf Teslas?I have learned that he is personally testing beta versions of the autopilot, but why stop there? In his position, I imagine Elon could ask about anything from color of the interior to match his wife's favourite dress, to bleeding edge...

How important is it for you that the 2nd row seats of the Model X are stowable?

It would be nice with folding 2nd row seats, but it's not a deal breaker. When we need lot of storage in the car it is typically when we go on vacation (family of four with occational guests). The luggage consists of bags and toys and stuff that can be piled up behind, on- and under the seats...

    Model X Mule Sightings

That is the first time I see the nose cone without camo and it definitely has a new look compared to Model S. The FWD seem to line up nicely as well. Thank you for posting!

    Model X Mule Sightings

The brake light is definitely in the rear spoiler. I was thinking that the spoiler would be recessed when fully down, but that would make the brake light invisible. Perhaps it is always up when driving.

    Third row seats

Looking at photos of the Model X prototypes, I get the impression that the two seats in the third row are tied together as a bench. That means that the owner of the car has to chose between five seats and seven. Six seats would not be an option. That would be a dissappointment to me as I found...

    The active fuse

Just to be clear: I am not voicing an opinion, I am just sharing my awe in the way electronics are influncening the way stuff works, down to such (or at least it used to be) basic items like fuses. When I got my license in the 70's, power windows and electronic door locks were cool, and fuel...

    The active fuse

Hi! Long time lurker, current TSLA holder, potential Tesla owner. In order to drain 1500 amps from the batteries, Tesla invented an active fuse that monitors the current from the batteries with computers and cuts the wires by pyrotechnics if things gets out of control. I love the inventive step...
