It's proven that appropriate season tires make a huge difference. Even if you're a "disciplined" driver, most other morons out there are not. We are also talking about a RWD model, so snow tires would be more helpful than a car with Front Wheel drive.

Boy, I wish you had a choice to pick "winter" (snow) tires for the 18" wheels. That would make it easier to get a nice set of "summer wheels". I understand this only applies to those of us in northern latitudes though :(

Actually I hope I'm wrong, lots of folks cant afford EVs (for now) and a rise in gas prices would place a huge burden on their household budgets. A couple of my assistants drive over 40 miles (roundtrip) a day to come to work, on top of that they own huge SUVs.....so, you get the point.

Look at the world we live in, current gas prices are likely to rise in the future. I recall a time not to long ago when I had to pay almost $5 for premium. Point is, don't assume gas will stay cheap.

Whether you "pre pay" for maintenance, or purchase a vehicle with "free" maintenance (I can assure you its bundled in the price of the car), you will stay pay to "maintain" your car. My point was that with less moving parts/fluids, costs "should" be lower. I hope that is the case.

Here is my two cents: In Germany, getting a driver's license is a "privilege" and it comes at great cost and with lots of "training" (and if you screw up....its gone for good). In many other countries (including the US), getting a driver's license is just a right of passage, and happens after...

I live in WA. Power is cheap. But that was never the issue. I honestly believe that the savings come from less "service" costs (i.e., oil, filters, and maintenance in general).
