SHORT Lease Takeover MX P100DL $900/month

I didn't realize Tesla had that restriction, although it makes sense. I'll ask if there's a way around this, but I can't imagine there is --Tesla gains nothing by adding an exception. Thanks for the call out to the restrictions! For what its worth, buyout for the vehicle is $95,xxx Maybe I...

SHORT Lease Takeover MX P100DL $900/month

I had a question if the vehicle was wrapped white. My mistake, the seats are the white seats/white interior -- not to be misleading on the post.

SHORT Lease Takeover MX P100DL $900/month

I've been assigned 2 new territories for work, which require me to drive an extra 3,000 miles a month. The added drive time/charging and miles aren't conducive to my new work schedule. 4.5 months remaining on lease, lease ends 12/28/20 As such, I'm gauging interest on putting the remainder of...

    Tesla MX vs. ???

Sounds like I'm headed the opposite way of you. Currently have a MX p100d, and am looking to switch to the x7 m50i when my lease is up in another few months. The MX is a ton of fun to drive in the city, and is incredibly quick. Unfortunately tho, I've been disappointed with the build quality...

Model X Performance Cheetah Launch Mode

Yeah. Just got an update notification for 2020.12.11.5 will install and see if anything changes.

Model X Performance Cheetah Launch Mode

I got the update, but am having an issue with luda+. Currently I have less power in luda+ than I do with regular Luda. I'll wait for another update, but right now ludicrous + limits to 300ish kw, while ludicrous gives me the full power. Unsure why. I had the cheetah stance then with the most...

    Solar Panel Option

There's a video on YouTube about the guys driving from Alaska to Argentina in the rv, trying to do it only via solar power. They state that on a clear day in summer the battery will charge empty to full in 2 days and go 200 miles per charge. They also joked about how they were stuck in Alaska on...

    Solar Panel Option

If you were really committed to long term off grid off road travel, I imagine you could create some type of solution similar to the link below. I'd imagine a roll out stacked double panel array, sitting in the bed or in a slanted roof rack of sorts. Won't get the type of power as the rv, but...

    20inch tires to 22inch

You'll lose approximately 20% of range on the 22s. I run them in the summer, but not on road trips.

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

Hopefully it's not my body quite yet! (I'm still quite young). Ive owned Tesla's since 2012, so I didn't actually notice the creaks and groans until riding in a new luxury vehicle. It was then immediately apparent my car is loud, moaning and groaning. :)

    COVID-19 IMPACT

It's doubtful, but worth reaching out to the lease/finance company to see if they will defer payments for 90 days. Most other companies are offering this at least privately.

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

It's a great car. Certainly not as fun to be in as the X, but after putting 52,000 miles on my X, I'm admittedly a bit sick of the creaks and groans. I feel much older in the xc90 tho :)
  14. T

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

I did a highly optioned xc90 t8. Certainly doesn't have the oomph of the X, but it made me realize how loud and rough around the edges my x is. Nothing will put a smile on my face like an suv that does 0-60 in under 3 seconds, but for daily drives even around the city I've caught myself...

    The argument *against* a 2nd gen Model S & X

Great question/point. I think we are all used to 2nd and 3rd Gen models, where Tesla only has a history of a single 2nd Gen model that is unreleased (the roadster) everything else is just an update on the 1st Gen.

Will Cybertruck charge by Megacharger or Supercharger? Both?

I think something is being created from nothing. It's just back to back 8 v3 chargers. This configuration is already in use in spots across the country.
  17. T

Will Cybertruck charge by Megacharger or Supercharger? Both?

Cost. Pure and simple. Why trench and run more cable when you can do it back to back like they've done here.
  18. T

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

True, but it sure would be nice if they would create one. The ambiguity around my issue has caused me to lose the same love I had for Tesla. It's still a great car, but I've purchased another vehicle for a daily driver and only drive my model x on occasion.
  19. T

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

I used to get 144kw peak after the software, 122 before, I now get 96kw, quickly dropping down to mid 70s.

    The argument *against* a 2nd gen Model S & X

I don't disagree with Tesla updating them continuously as they have done. But the point of this thread is a 2nd generation model s and x that would be completely rehauled, instead of the incremental updates we've seen.
  21. T

    The argument *against* a 2nd gen Model S & X

I guess I don't see your reasoning. They've made significantly more on their model 3 and will continue that with the model y. I just don't see them redoing a model that doesn't help them skyrocket their stock price, which supports developing the Y and CT. I would love a luxobarge model s to...

Pressure Buffeting - Has anyone experienced it?

Best thing that resolved it for me completely was to turn my car into a true sedan. I put a body pillow over the trunk cover and blocked the air flow to prevent buffering. Obviously blocks your rear mirror, but side mirrors and rear camera for me was better than ear popping over bumps. Sad...

    The argument *against* a 2nd gen Model S & X

I'd be surprised we will see a new x or s on the same platform as current. Now that they can literally stamp out the Y, it's pointless to work backwoods and assemble the X and S in may pieces. Maybe in a few more years after the CT we will see an new s and x platform. Maybe.

    Model X Hardware Updates

Depends on your driving habits, but ultimately not worth changing for free supercharging. That being said, I've used over 6,500kw in supercharging so I'm happy I have unlimited.

    Cybertruck Battery and Powertrain Discussion

Which is exactly why I don't think Tesla will make a dual motor 500 mile range vehicle. Why would they when they cut their margins when people will add 20k to their order for the range...

Order Model X now or wait for latest update

I'd wait out q1 of this year to see if the changes are announced. There hasn't been a big switch up of features in a while. I would expect the 2170 batteries to be used in the X and s soon, adding charging rate and likely 20% more range.
  28. T

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

It already does effect the 100kwh battery. I've been throttled and range greatly reduced on my P100DL Model X. Both in supercharging, and lost 29 miles of range over night. Service says its in the normal range for the battery..
  29. T

Will the off-road tires reduce the range like 22s on MX?

I agree, I'm just hoping it was 500 mile range as displayed with the beefy tires, so when people switch to low resistance tires they see 550 miles range. (I know this isnt going to be the case)
  30. T

    Cybertruck Battery and Powertrain Discussion

Unfortunately tho, adding more options to the configuration adds complexity for Tesla, thus increasing the price. Mass production = lower prices for all. A dual motor long range and a tri motor long range would increase the price of both options

    I-40 through Arkansas?

Unless your coming from Oklahoma city, it cuts out the need to add nearly and hour your your drive going thru Tulsa..
  32. T

    Self presenting doors?

I'd be happy if it were included as an added option. Would gladly pay the premium price to get it either separately or bundled in a package. Unfortunately I don't see Tesla doing this, as they have streamlined their process and minimized the number of possible configurations.
  33. T

    I-40 through Arkansas?

We really just need 1 charger location anywhere along that route to make the trip feasible. I'd be happy if they cancel the other two locations just to expedite the location in Fort Smith..

    Picked her up this morning!

I can text you some pics of my P100 same color combo with blacked out wheels and chrome delete if you want. I did plastidip, so I can peel off if I ever want to. My favorite thing is the blacked out badges. I think it really sets the look apart
  35. T

    Self presenting doors?

You can turn off self presenting doors. But I don't think there's a way to completely turn off the motor. I'd say mine work about half the time. The more I think about it, I'd prefer the self close over anything. Pressing the brake and having the door close works every time. Having the door...

    Spectrum, why do you disagree?

    I-40 through Arkansas?

I'm amazed Tesla hasn't solved this corridor yet. It would even suffice to have the slower 72kw chargers just for enough of a charge to get people to Okc/Tulsa/little Rock. There has been a coming soon for this corridor since 2015...

    Speculation of pack sizes (kWh)

Just bc the battery will be bigger doesn't necessarily mean you have to charge it more each night. You're driving habits likely won't change, so your charging habits won't either. If you need to charge more than 40% every day then use a Supercharger. Odds are most users of the big battery won't...

I think raven X's might have this option, but I believe pre raven X's have slightly different motors for performance VS regular and the only unlocking is a P100D without ludicrous

Can you link the obd tool you use for your MX?
  41. T

Model X 100D range out of range after 205 miles from Full charge

I'm having a similar issue. From 100% charge to 1% charge all hiwghay driving no stopping I used 76.4kwh from my P100DL. Curious where the other 23.6kwh battery went. This has happened on several occasions.
  42. T

    Supercharger capacity reality??

Go drive out to Cali and wait an hour in line to charge. I'll take my charger that's empty any day.
  43. T

Charging my Raven Model X at a Version 3 supercharger

I think most people are obsessing over the wrong thing. My max charge rate rose to 144kw (mxp100) but my average rate dropped considerably with the past few updates. I'll hit 144kw, then drop to 80, then charge at 72kw for the remainder of the SC. I'd definitely prefer to stay at 120 the...

    Delivery yesterday. Careless?

Unfortunately your delivery sounds like an effect of their year end sales push. When picking up my MX a few years ago it was essentially the same thing. Sign your folder of paperwork, have any questions, no oky great cya. At the end of it I had a long drive home so I didn't mind much, but a bit...

    Self presenting doors?

Yeah you're right. Cybertruck performance sucks. While we are on the subject, you are aware of the definition of performance, correct? Why don't you look it up, and confirm your argument.

How would you describe a truck that goes 0-60 in 2.9, a low performance vehicle?

    2020 Long Range vs 2018 P100D

There are likely way too many variables for us to know what's the right choice for you. Do you have a long range car for trips, budget, etc etc etc For me, it's worth stopping a bit more to charge with the hit of range a 2018 P100d causes. Bc I laugh like a little kid every time I stomp on the...

Will the off-road tires reduce the range like 22s on MX?

I anticipate rivian will come close, although not in price. If they don't they are dead in the water on the consumer side.
  49. T

    Self presenting doors?

I love the self open doors on my model x. Can't imagine a car without them now.. Anyone think Tesla would ever offer this as an option for the CT?
