Am in the minority here, having canceled my reservation yesterday after digesting Elon's Tweet Storm and it's ramifications for me personally. I wanted all the goodies and decided that waiting for another two years was just a bridge too far for me personally. Looks like i'll be picking up a...
:(:( I knew there was a good chance this would happen, still a bit disappointed though.... I want my new TOY! :D:D Am going to have to seriously rethink getting a CPO S now.
Car was delivered in March of this year (pre facelift). P90D with AP, Tech, Pano, Air Susp., Sub Zero, Hi Fidelity. Car has 9,xxx miles. Looking to upgrade to newer S. What kind of numbers have you guys been getting from Tesla on trade ins?
Messing around today tracking sales by make. Came across Edmunds Data Center, where they have a pretty robust spreadsheet that tracks sales. Wonder why they choose not to add any Tesla data. Thoughts?
Maybe not many Tesla's in rural Warrenton but plenty in Northern Virginia overall. I see 5 to 6 every day on my commute to work. 2 of my co workers own a Model S as well as 2 other in the our office building alone.
Trying to figure out a couple of things.
First how or where do I look on the car to see what version/model# battery pack is on a brand new S that got delivered yesterday.
Is there a wiki somewhere that keeps track of the different model/version types of battery packs/versions that have come...
Exactly! In fact DC has the 3rd most Waze users in the U.S. with L.A & NY swapping 1st and 2nd place on a routine basis. For big cities WAZE is super useful. A mirroring type APP would also do the trick. Just as Long as the map correctly scales up to the native resolution of the TESLA...
No worries, I know I don't have that many posts to my credit, but I can tell you my daily job involves research, software development and a LOT of GIS mapping. I run all sorts of analytics on geocoded data sets and because I work in the retail sector I had a meeting today with Waze to see how...
I don't know what you guys are doubting? That Google/Maps insider (employee) told me this or that I'm fabricating the story. Either way seems like a very petty thing to do to make up don't ya think? I don't know why said person would make up such a thing. And honestly i don't think its that...
So today i was in a very interesting meeting with a Google/Waze insider who told me Elon had a custom WAZE app developed and is currently running on his Tesla. I know Tesla is working on a official SDK. Hopefully you guys will be getting it soon. I unfortunately have to wait till my Model 3...
I'm sure the M3 complete service manual will be available via your favorite Torrent late next year or early 2018. Not too many X & S owners are interested in working on their own cars. M3 owners however are going to be a much different demographic group with no doubt a lot more DIY'ers. There...
Neither Cops or Bad Guys will be using M3's. Tesla would only devalue their brand image by selling M3's as Fleet vehicles. As GM & Ford how hard it is to shed that image once it's been slapped on you. Also I double Tesla would allow anybody but their own SC's work on these cars for the...
Assumptions: M3 will ship with fully autonomous hardware and legislation passes allowing its use by 2020 or several years later.
Statistics: We use our our cars only 10% of the time and the other 90% it's sits idle.
Scenario:
After being dropped of at work at 8am your Tesla goes into Taxi...
Correct, but everything else being equal (options, engine, Cab configuration etc..) the new F150 is now 600-700 lbs lighter then it's outgoing model. So if Ford can mass produce a high volume vehicle on average between 500k - 600k I'm sure Tesla can figure out a way to make the M3 mostly all...
YES!! One of my two most major concerns have just been addressed :) Guess I will just have to live with the fact the M3 will be 50/50 aluminum/steel. Imagine how much better performance would be if M3 were all Aluminium.
Came across this article today. About 3/4 of way down. Telsa Model 3 rep confirmed Model 3 will be over 50% steel. Tesla's Battery Pack Costs Are Cheaper Than You Think -- The Motley Fool
Ok thanks for clearing up the confusion, nice to know there is still and old school coil/spring setup that has nothing to do with air suspension and all of it's components.
Test drove a Model S 90D with the bigger wheels and Michelin Sport tires. Did all the acceleration stuff which was fun, but what impressed me most was how fast I was able to enter and accelerate thru my favorite highway on ramp. The amount of grip and the planted feel of this car is simply...
I would choose the suspension that makes sense for your driving style and local conditions. The ability to raise the suspension in the CO snow will give you a bit of extra ground clearance both under the car and in between the tires and inner wheel wells. You said you have a sloped driveway...
Following this Thread closely! Can't wait to see some real world comparison tests of carbon vs. stock wheels when it comes to acceleration, braking and most importantly range!
Maybe I missed it but do we know yet what type of material we will be getting for the majority of the body and body panels? Obviously would prefer the aluminum, but with a $35k price point AND the fact that M3 will be a high volume car i'm thinking we are gonna get steel.
Thoughts?
