    How Secure Are Teslas/Tesla Thefts

It is cat & mouse; absolutely - the difference is Tesla can do what almost no other OEM can - rapid updates to fix security holes. There is a fool-proof way to allow people to disable their cars (you could also just set the speed limiter, already implemented, to zero) if they so choose. There is...

    How Secure Are Teslas/Tesla Thefts

Problem is that there are a ton of cars with MCU2 that have either been upgraded from MCU1, or were of the year where MCU2 started being rolled out - and so thieves won't know until they've smashed the window. If Tesla won't/can't fix this directly, then fine - but give ALL owners more security...

Not sure if this made it here already, but there's a new planning application in for Sheffield Meadowhall Retail Park (NOT the big shopping centre - but 2 mins from it) next to IKEA and Pizza Hut etc. Looks like 18 bays. Will be very handy and, one would assume, spell the end of Tankersley.

    How Secure Are Teslas/Tesla Thefts

How sure are we that this latest issue is MCU1 only? Also, the owners club really need to kick Tesla to fix this - I've long asked for a time-based immobiliser, so you can say, 10pm to 6am or whatever, the car is utterly undrivable. Won't respond to keys, won't do anything.

I met Rod, MD of WB, earlier this year and he confirmed that it was going ahead. As pointed out, planning permission has long been granted (July *last* year!) so they need to get a move on - unless it has been shelved in favour of Ferrybridge or something. In any case, we are seeing Woodall SB...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Wouldn't be a good start for the Tesla-China relationship with GF3. My guess is the Chinese govt will make some exceptions, and you can bet the Tesla China team are already talking to the necessary people in the Communist party. Either way, this trade war is going to get ugly and Trump will lose.

Depreciation on Model S is Horrible

Here in the UK, I got a trade-in valuation from Tesla for my late 2016 facelift S75 with AP1 with 50k miles - cost new £65,000, Tesla offer was £26,500. Selling privately I could get roughly £40,000 for it. So it is clear Tesla don't want the cars back...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

I am on my 3rd MCU (MCU 1, July 2016 car..) and the last one was replaced due to the yellow banding issue which was pretty terrible. Tesla have agreed to replace my screen when the new unit is available - hopefully this year. Good news as my car is about to run out of warranty... I would be...

100%. I use Twitter all the time, but the amount of problems it has created and/or perpetuated is absurd. Leave alone Trump's use of it, and just look at the fake accounts issue. Advice for leaving car in airport car park

I also left my car for 5 weeks mid Dec-mid Jan. Charged to 80% and when I came back, I had lost 100 miles. I didn't switch off always connected though, which was a bit silly. In any case it wasn't an issue.

Yeah I've done this 100 times - a week is fine. Charged mine to 80%, drove from Oxford to Gatwick, left it 7 days in late Jan (when it was very cold last year) and lost about 4 miles a day. As other said, switch off the always connected thing to save juice.
