MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

The logic of 100% range in APP works like this... 1) When the SOC is 3km/1%, 100%=300km 2) When the SOC is 4km/1%, 100%=400km 3) When the SOC is 5km/1%, 100%=500km It's just a convenient way to see your 100% rated range. It actually added another level of fluctuation/error to the...

    E3D & E5D for Model 3 LR 2021 - Battery mess

This picture is interesting. Can you provide the source? E3D and E5D are still mixed up. How do EU owners confirm it's LG except the "document"? If it's true, do you know LG cells from China or US? Seems ineffective to transport LG pack from China to US to Europe...

How I Recovered Half of my Battery's Lost Capacity

The curve is discharging. I was talking about cell voltage vs. SOC when car sitting still. I don't have SMT to verify the voltage of each SOC, but I think since SOC is related to usable capacity (kWh, aka voltage * Ah), which should be (almost?) linear with voltage.
  13. EvanLin

How I Recovered Half of my Battery's Lost Capacity

    4V is exactly 85% for Bjorn's car. 100% = 403V pack = 4.2V cell 0% = 282V pack = 2.9375V cell

Tesla confirms new 82 kWh battery in 2021 M3

My understandings are: 1) 82kWh is the "statement" on the register document of EU Model 3. 2) Spec on register documents doesn't always match EPA data or OBD reading. 3) Old register document stated 79kWh, so it's ~4% increase on kWh.

    FSD's "prediction" on a intersection

I remembered seeing some arguments about "FSD shows the crossroad before FSD can actually see it, so HD map is used by FSD". I don't agree. It's like speed limits. They are just some extra info to help AP/FSD, not the "HD map" Waymo and Cruise used. Here is an example I observed about how FSD...

    2021 Model 3 and differences from 2020

I am just suggesting the refresh is related to energy density improvement. The kWh numbers in EPA tests are just too "random" to explain. For example, Why didn't Tesla pick another 2021 LR car with ~80.8kWh after they performed a test with only 78.557kWh? Impossible for us to explain. "OEMs do...

How I Recovered Half of my Battery's Lost Capacity

You don't need to do that. The car balances all the time whenever its needed. (by wk057) Tesla's 85 kWh rating needs an asterisk (up to 81 kWh, with up to ~77 kWh usable)

HVAC and heat pump innovations as described by Tesla

I don't understand about the "heat pump" part in video P1. At 3:30, he said the heat pump is like compressor+condenser+evaporator. Charging the Semi

    Supercharger V3 unveiling in Fremont

Looks like the cabinet is 350kW with 4 outputs. Tesla claimed 1MW (or four 250kW "not sharing"). What's the difference here? We knew now that 250kW only lasts for very short period of time. It makes no sense to use a 1MW cabinet, right?

Model 3 Motors on the Tesla Parts Catalog

I was going to mention it. AFAIK, max. power of the car isn't simply adding up F & R motor power. On MS, max. power of the car is limited by "battery power" (you can see it on wiki), which makes sense. You can't get more power from battery pack, so that's it. Also, power is a curve. Max. power...

100% charge range of SR+ at 224...new order of same car is 250 advertised

When SR+ was advertised 240mi, there was an "EPA est." on website. After it's changed to 250mi, "EPA est." is gone. I wonder if nothing really changed but only Tesla changed EPA multiplier to make it "looking better". (refer to Tesla Range Table - Teslike.com about multiplier)

    V10 and Battery "Degradation"

I have no idea why "trip meter" calculation works as we knew it's ALWAYS short of kWh. If your car has OBD2, you can buy an OBD2 adapter and use the app "Scan My Tesla" to get exact numbers of nominal and buffer kWh to end the debate. (the pic below is downloaded from internet few months ago)
