    Evercharge

We are having 42 chargers put into our HOA’s stalls. Their chargers are the only ones that do load sharing across many chargers. (Tesla does , too but, not everyone owns a Tesla) $15 per month. Electric usage will be special SoCal Edison Time of Use tier. Our chargers, after rebates are $900...

    Battery Fuse replacement warning

Thanks. I just got the same warning on my 2017 MS 90D. I just wanted to see what I was in for. I may come back to his post and post my own results.

Solved*: AP, TACC, Auto Wipers & Lights

Yes. Agreed. My wife and I were driving through Arizona and New Mexico and I noticed the mirages causing AP to brake. It seemed less of a problem on some of the newer concrete (white) parts of as opposed to asphalt(black). It seemed that cruise control was also affected. I reported this as a bug...

    battery longevity question…

Just FYI: I regularly charge from 50-80% except when going on long trips, I'll go to 90-100%. My Model S is nearly 6 years old and my range is down about 11%. That's with a mix of L1, L2, L3 charging.

    Summon never works 1st time

Dang. Same here. Sometimes it doesn't work until 4-5 tries. Frustrating! I know it was the update. Also, my summons used to "remember" where it started from and stop at that point on the return but now, it just keeps going...

Inventory P100D software limited to 48-amp AC charging?

Yeah. Something doesn't seem right with that statement. Whenever I'm pulling 72 Amps @ 200 VAC, my miles/hour charge is about 42 mi/hr. Plenty slow/safe enough charge. Besides, the battery charging infrastructure only sees the resultant DC output from the twin chargers.

Let's Speculate - What will happen if FSD isn't possible on cars sold with that option?

Just read that HW3 will be installed on cars that have fully paid FSD. I can't tell you how gratifying that feels after being teased on the forum by members that were absolutely positive that I would never get upgraded hardware without paying an additional cost.

Intermittent Charging Failure using 120 volt wall outlet

Yeah. Just roll up to a Tesla service center. They'll check you in real quick, test the UMC and the car and let you know what happened. The UMC will be under warranty.

    Mobile charger cable strain relief

Wamochi, thanks for your input! Unfortunately, mine is not nicely mounted to the wall but is rolled up in my car every day. I should have mentioned that. That’s the main reason the it gets abused so much.

    Mobile charger cable strain relief

So, I’m sure, like many folks, the mobile charging cable gets used a lot. I use mine every day. After about a year and a half, I noticed that cable getting intermittent. It finally gave up the ghost a couple of weeks later. I noticed by manipulating the cable where it exits the charging module...

Autopilot - Newbie thoughts and observations

I agree. Good catch. EAP speeding up at an inopportune time is one of the things that has become second nature to me. I either 1) set my max to about 20-25 mph in slow traffic or, 2) My left hand is just a flick away from canceling the EAP (preferred). Sometimes, I'll catch the display acquire...

No federal tax credit for 2017?

No federal tax credit for 2017? Has anybody else had this problem? Our taxes have been done since February 1 but, our accountant can’t File our taxes because there is no form 8936 for the federal tax credit. The IRS has not yet released that form which, according to our accountant, hasn’t...

    Blackvue Connector Fuse

I did the same thing. It's a 5 amp microfuse. The very first one to the right on the long line of fuses at the bottom of the fuse box. This would be the fusebox beneath the windshield located above the 12 volt battery.

    Supercharger - Deming, NM

Yes! Thank you for the heads up! Even though we were able to go from Tucson to Deming on one charge, we still had to stop in between for a bathroom break! This will make that bathroom break a little more advantageous.

I found the ambient temperature makes a huge difference in battery current draw on my trip from Deming. Once things warmed up, my EBA (Estimated Battery on Arrival). was quite consistent.

I remember well, you and I talking about this at the El Paso Supercharger! Thank you for the heads up! When I left Deming, the temperature was in the low 40s. I charged as much as I could but, it's a long way to Tucson. My EBA (Estimated Battery Arrival) was about 6% 20 minutes after leaving...

An Open Letter about My Model X Body Repair Experience...

Call me crazy  (wouldn't be the first) since Tesla doesn't change the basic body styles of their vehicles, a partially automated process of body repair should be reasonable. A poor example of this is Apple's LIAM, thier 29 armed recycling robot. I could see a similar robot scanning a...

NVIDIA Unveils "First" AI Computer for Level 5 Driverless Vehicles

Agreed. Apple created their "Bionic Chip" for the iPhone X as a way to insert more efficient AI processing instead of using solely software. It would be no surprise to me if Tesla was forced to do the same. Only time will tell.

NVIDIA Unveils "First" AI Computer for Level 5 Driverless Vehicles

Understood. However, this is not trivial. My purchase agreement shows $5000 for Enhanced Auto Pilot and $3000 for Full self-driving capability. As far as I'm concerned, Tesla has 8 grand of my money to provide all the Hardware and AI required to fulfill their end of the bargain. Period.

NVIDIA Unveils "First" AI Computer for Level 5 Driverless Vehicles

When a couple of Teslas caught fire after having the battery peirced by road debris, a titanium plate was designed to mitigate that problem and those plates were installed on all Teslas. No small expense or feat.

I have an S90D (approx. 298 mile range) that should easily get me to Willcox. Additionally, I'm hoping to cut my charge-up time in Willcox by drafting a semi-tractor trailer all the way. I'm hoping I can draft more semis to Canutillo (255 miles), if not , I'll have to stop in Deming at the...

NVIDIA Unveils "First" AI Computer for Level 5 Driverless Vehicles

Yeah. I don't want to swap out my vehicle in 3-5 years. I paid for full autonomous driving upfront because I'm reasonably sure that Musk will deliver it even if my car needs a hardware upgrade. I base this belief on what he's done in the past with these cars. (Yes, I understand it's just a belief)

    Ideas for Autopilot

Well, I guess the tough part for HW2 is mapping a 3D world. Since none of the camera systems have stereoscopic vision (which I understand is really effective to just 10 meters) maybe series of two images that are seperated by milliseconds during movement can be compared to create a synthetic...

    235 mile trip - S75D

If you can get behind a lorrie for most of the trip, the drop in air resistance will substantially boost your mileage. My apologies if my comment offended her. Once again, my offense was pointed at the popular media which likes to make more noise against what Musk and Tesla is doing as opposed to the ICE industry. More dinosaur-school hysteria from a dying, dinosaur-school industry. I don't hear the CEO of GM saying she would step into any production line job to verify safety. From my (limited) perspective, it looks like Tesla is trying to go above and beyond what UAW would do for the employees. NO DUES...

Model X in fatal wrong way driver crash today in Phoenix?

Exactly. Wrong way drivers would usually (not always) stay far "right" believing they were in the slow lane and out of most traffic but, they are actually driving in the fast lane of oncoming traffic.
