So, I’m sure, like many folks, the mobile charging cable gets used a lot. I use mine every day. After about a year and a half, I noticed that cable getting intermittent. It finally gave up the ghost a couple of weeks later. I noticed by manipulating the cable where it exits the charging module, I was able to keep it operational for a couple weeks. Luckily, the cable is also under the four year limited warranty for my vehicle. I’ll have to say, the good folks at Tesla Service Center Buena Park were exemplary in getting me all fixed up. Now, my dilemma is, these cables are fragile. Obviously, strain relief is needed on both sides of the charging module. A quick trip to JK electronics in Westminster to get spiral cable race and fusion tape was just The ticket. I purchased two sizes of spiral cable race. One that would fit snug on the cable and another that was just one size up to go over the top of the first. I wrapped both fusion tape as I went along. For a sequence of pictures, See below.
