    Rear ended - repair advice

I got rear ended the other day. She said her brakes went out and she was going 20 mph. I had my windows down and didn't hear any brake screeching for sure. I was at a stop sign while a jogger ran through the crosswalk in front of me, so I didn't see her coming. Pics below. I've put arrows to...

    Black Center Caps?

Hey I know this is an old thread, but I tried your suggested tool and the tsportline caps won't budge for me, wet suction or not. They do spin, but that's all the movement I get. Pulling on them the suction just eventually gives up. Am I going to need to remove the entire tire/wheel to get the...

    OMG...tire choices: my head hurts

I bought the same tires in November. We haven't had a lot of snow this winter but the few times we did I think these tires did an OK job. I do have to remind myself to change the drive setting to Chill though. When I forget to do that, on slush and snow the rear would kick out slightly on slow...

    19" vs 21" wheels & tires

I really liked the Space Gray too. It was hard to choose between that and Matte Black, which I obviously went with. It came down to simply getting something that was different than the 21s which were gray. Plus I may decide to get the windows tinted dark, and maybe black out the chrome at some...

    19" vs 21" wheels & tires

I bought the 19" TST Flow Forged from TSportline last fall. Have had them on all winter and they've worked out great. No major difference in range due to the new tire/wheel combo. I had 21's previously. I don't have to worry about road rash on the wheels anymore. Flow forged is a superior method...

CPO --> Something to be concerned with?

Probably a good choice. With that damage it should be listed as less than that, and for that money you should be able to find something in better condition.

CPO --> Something to be concerned with?

I wish I had been able to see detailed pics like that before I bought mine. Not that I still wouldn't have pulled the trigger.

Is MCU 2 the most important feature when shopping for a used Tesla?

IMO, the S simply looks damn good. Way better than the 3. I'm intrigued by the Y but it shares the same looks at the 3. The Model S shares some of the beauty of Aston Martin design which I've always appreciated. The interior is more luxurious too. An actual dashboard with useful information in...

Rust issue with T Sportline wheels

I have had this problem with one of my wheels too, usually after a car wash. It was bad initially like your picture but has gotten better. Curiously it only seemed to occur on my left rear wheel. It has nothing to do with lugs, I have the closed bolt lugs with covers. I spoke with a ranger about...

    Help - Buying a 2015 Model S

I would try NOT to test the air bags. That said, there are LOTS of threads on these forums about what to check for when buying used. CPO delivery is one of them. Just search for "used", CPO, checklist, etc. I'm sure you'll find hours worth orf reading like I once did.

    Tpms Gen 1 or Gen2??

Thanks. Can't believe I missed that. But it's there and I do see pressures. They were actually reporting 4 PSI under the optimal 42. When do they start reporting low pressure? On another note, these are the TPMS I'm thinking of pairing with my matte black wheels...

    Tpms Gen 1 or Gen2??

I am trying to determine this for my car as well. I have a June 2015 P85D, currently with 21" turbines. I don't seem to have any TPMS readout unless I'm not looking in the right place. I've read several posts here that after vin 50900 the sensors were all version 2. My vin is well beyond that...

    Wheel size suggestions

With all the sales going on I feel like I need to pull the trigger on something, but I haven't had the time to research to the fullest my options. My current setup is a P85D with 21" Turbine OEM wheels. However, here in Ohio they are starting to take a beating, and that's with trying to be extra...

20 Inch wheel options for Tesla 100D

Interesting the TSportline series seems to have a hard time getting balanced. I wonder if that's typical or if your situations were outliers. It may make me re-think my preference when I go to purchase. Then again I'd have to find something that I think looks better too.

    P85D under $50K (with a caveat)

I saw that one drop for a couple weeks. When I first saw it was above 55k. Looks like it's gone now though. It's nice they say "Previously Repaired" but I think there should be more detail to that statement. Like what and why?

Slacker Radio Tip for New Owners!

I tried this but it seems policies have changed. This is a note I got from support today: We changed the policy on giving out Slacker credentials in January of 2019. This was due to owners abusing the accounts and using them across multiple devices. Tesla accounts were never intended to be used...

20 Inch wheel options for Tesla 100D

Those do look good - what did you have before and how do they compare? Also do you have the same all around or larger in the rear?

20 Inch wheel options for Tesla 100D

Personally I like the looks of what's available at TSportline, but I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. I have 21's on my 2015 and thought 20" would be a nice year round balance as well. I've also seen other posts where people have used 20's from the Model X on their MS. I'll probably...

    Low/No speed suspension noise normal?

According to the NHTSA, I have 0 unrepaired recalls affecting my VIN. I've sent Tesla a request for recall information anyway, to be on the safe side. I haven't seen a Tesla site to check recall status.

    Low/No speed suspension noise normal?

I've noticed that when I turn the wheel at low or no speed, as seen/heard in this video, I get a creaking/ticking noise. Sometimes it's just one or two sounds, but usually always when I have to crank the wheel for slow turns or pulling/backing into parking spots. It's normally not as bad as the...

Just ordered a 2015 85D CPO. Quick question..

I took the 2k hit, as much as I didn't want to. Avoiding the hassle of flying and a 10 hour drive home - plus other circumstances to consider on my part, not to mention that I'd heard good things about my nearest SC and I think it was worth it. The SC had the car cleaned up good and I really had...

    Radar detector mirror tap

Prash, I have a 2015 P85D and would like to try your method with a Uniden R3. I've tried getting the backing off the rear view mirror to access the mirror power, but I can only seem to loosen it. Any hints on how to get it completely off (without breaking it)? Also, has this method help up for...

My Current Used Tesla Buying Experience

So I promised an update too... and maybe I'll do a separate, more detailed experience post when I have more time as well. We got to Tesla Cincinnati a few minutes early and waited a couple minutes past our appointment time before our delivery agent came to get us. The car was waiting inside...

Long time reader, Just picked up "Used" 2015 85D through Tesla

Looks like I nice one. I'm in Dayton and will be picking mine up in Cinci tomorrow. I did have to pay to have it shipped from NY though. Hoping for great experience like yours as well.

My Current Used Tesla Buying Experience

Well, it seems we have the same tastes then, that's the one I bought. This link should still work. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not likely going to sleep much tonight. I've been noticing the dwindling stock of P85Ds lately and even though I really wanted blue, the dark metallic silver...

My Current Used Tesla Buying Experience

SBZRO, Curious about the car you were looking at first but missed on. I pulled the trigger on a P85D located in NY on 3/30. I'm due to pick it up tomorrow. Also nervous as hell and trying to be prepared with checklists, etc. Curiously, my sales adviser was also a Tim.

Tesla loan comparison spreadsheet - auto updates hourly

Did you ever go through the loan process with Carolina Coop FCU? I also just joined NCCC and submitted for membership to the CU. Not sure if I should go ahead and apply now or wait for the membership request to go through. Thanks.
