    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thank you both very much @Dave EV & @init6 . You are both very helplfull. Thanks to you I finally muddied my way through it and got the new version of Teslamate installed on my pi and restored my backup. I figured out that the reason why I couldn't figure out how to get the backup file into...

Thank you @init6, appreciate it. You are right about the slashes. Got the backup moved into my pi with the following command in the windows command prompt: pscp.exe -P 22 c:\Temp\teslamate.bck [email protected]:\home\pi\ Seemed to work perfectly. I have been following the instructions you...

Can somebody please tell me exactly where on my raspberry pi 3B+ that I should put the teslamate backup file, for restoration of the database? Ideally, I'd be using a PC and dragging and dropping the teslamate.bck file into the advised directory on the microsd card. Thank you in advance, as I...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thank you Dave EV, turns out you are exactly right. I was running a pi and it turns out I was on the old Buster version. The link you provided to upgrade to Bullseye was informative, but it didn't work for me, so I muddied my way through backing up teslamate and copying the file over to my PC...

Hi guys, I updated to the new version today on my pi, and reallized that my Grafana was set to the default password, and fixed that. Glad to close it up. But, now that it is updated I can no longer get the the status screen that I normally can via http://192.168.1.9:4000/, where I can go to...

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

I've tried having an open mind on v11 on my Classic S. So disapointed, it is absolute crap. - can no longer use audio from my phone for reading e-books. - takes many more button presses and longer eyes off road to do anything ie: Seat heaters, anything HVAC, anything audio - no longer shows...

Thanks again @DaveW. Yeah, I think you are correct and I don't think it is running the tmbackup script. I went through the directions again and after running the tmbackup script, I get a command not found error. Last login: Sun Oct 25 05:12:04 2020 from 192.168.1.13 pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo...

I'm having trouble updating from Teslamate v1.19.4 to the current v1.20.0. My Teslamate is running on a raspberry pi 3b+ & has been going strong & solid since February. I was able to update it in April to v1.19.4 using this same method. This is what I am doing: On my Windows10 PC I log into...

    Bird's eye view coming?

Tesla has this all backwards. Bird's eye view is an aid for humans. To implement is has part of FSD by an AI, where it isn't necessarily needed, is completely backwards to logic.

How is your rear camera after MCU1 to MCU2 upgade (dark?)

I had my MCU2 installed about 2 months ago, and now that the days are getting shorter I am using the backup camera more in the dark, and had noticed that the rear view is harder to see these days. Then I see this thread and realize I am not the only one and that it is indeed an issue & I am not...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

In the referral program a couple of years ago I won a powerwall. They never delivered so about 6 months ago they offered me a credit for it's value plus installation. I took it rather than wait, as my house isn't really ideal for solar and we don't have offset power rates where I live.

Hi Guys, I'm running the latest version (1.19.4)of Teslamate on my Rpi3b+. I originally installed BigTony's Pi image on v1.12 and it has been working great since then. I have always been missing the first 10 to 15 minutes of the drives since day 1. I thought I read that this was fixed in the...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

Just got my AP0 (early 2013) MS upgraded to MCU2 yesterday. This was the 3rd time they tried to fix it since June when my MCU was diagnosed as needing replacement. 2 times they tried to install a refurbished MCU1, but each time I confirmed with the tech that it was MCU2 before they started...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

To update, I'm scheduled to have MCU2 installed on my AP0 car on the 31st. It was supposed to happen yesterday but the parts for MCU2 take a few more days to get here. Total is $3510 CAD, deductible of $300 was already paid while they were diagnosing. I'm fortunate that I have some Tesla...

Actually, I'm AP0. I got the car in early 2013 about 9 months before AP1 came out. I do have basic cruise control though! ;) Good info, thanks! Ha ha! Tempting, but no. I've had this car so long now, I'll wait until my cybertruck order comes, should be within the 1st year of shipping...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

I've been told by Tesla Service that I need a new MCU. I can get an MCU1 for my $300 (Canadian) deductible, or for a new MCU2 for about $4000. I think I am getting fleeced in the MCU2 cost. Everyone here seems to say it is $2500 USd which converts to about $3375 Cad. I've only got an older...

    Cybertruck as a daily driver?

My old 2013 Model S's extended warranty runs out in early 2021 (8 years of ownership), so I'm thinking ahead of what I'll drive as my daily driver then. Cybertruck and superchargers

What happens if the tailgate is down, for carrying 8ft plywood or 2x4s or carrying a custom bed camper? Will the cable be long enough? There may not be an option to simply unload what you are carrying and then back in to charge. Maybe the charge point will be better off in the front?

    TPMS reset on V10

This is BS. It shouldn't even have a deductible taken from it, as it is all Tesla's fault. We bought a car with a TPMS reset button that works with our tires. We bought winter tires that works with the car. Afterwards, Tesla changed the frequency of the TPMS's and the sensor antenna. Old...

My S is a 2013 and I have the old sensors. Put on my winter tires yesterday and I also have no TPMS reset button on V10. As a result of the lack of a reset button, the car disables traction control too, since it thinks the tire pressure might be low. Gee Tesla, way to go and really break...
