I let my S charge to its selected percentage and then opened my energy monitor to verify there wasn't any more power being pulled from the grid
The Tesla breakers are pulling about 0.016Ax2 (2 breakers) = 0.032A or 32mAh which seems to be the wall connector and its LEDs
At this point in...
I know this has been discussed before, but my 2 month old Model S AC is getting louder. Yes, I know it is getting hotter...!
I've attached a short version, and a longer one showing how the AC starts and kicks in. In that one, you can also hear the AC unit step up and down responding to the...
Thinking about a model X 90D but on the test drive the AC didn't push nearly as much air as my benz. A little worried here that on the hottest of days the Model X won't sufficiently cool the cabin. Comments?
When I turn on the A/C in my Roadster 1.5, the A/C light comes on, but often the heater led also comes on by itself a little bit later, which doesn't seem right to me. I thought *maybe* the car uses a fan from the heater unit to help flow A/C air or something, but can't think of any other...
I currently own a 2015 Nissan Leaf and live in northern Quebec (Canada). My Leaf gives enough cabin heat until -15 Celcius (5F) but is much less powerful beyond that. How Tesla compares to that? I wouldn't want to have to dress as on snowmobiles in my car for long distances.
Hello to all; my first post here. Have been lurking for some time and the fabulous debut of the Model 3 motivated me to register and join the fray. Have not yet reserved a Model 3 as due to my height (6'4") I need to test drive one first. Will also want a service center closer to my house than...
Can you control things like seat heaters and steering wheel heater via the API or apps (which I guess is really the same thing). If not is there any good reason why you can't do this when you can control climate? Or is this a case of they didn't bother adding it to the UI when they added this...
Anyone ideas on that topic:
When switching on the air condition in my Roadster (1.5 but at least some parts if not all of the HVAC are 2.0/2.5 series parts) the two front fans won't start to turn.
Another Roadster I could examine was running the front condenser fans immediatley after switching...
I configured the Model X at the start of the week (P90D, autopilot, midnight over black) and have the following questions I'd like to resolve before the "pending" period elapses (November 30th) even though I imagine production is not imminent, I am especially concerned about rear air...
I had my roadster in the shop a few weeks ago for a noisy AC compressor. Casey at the Denver Service Center unbent a hose and wrapped some insulation around it, which mostly got rid of the noise. Today I was charging up before leaving and got HVAC: Consolidated Compressor Fault(s) ID:1428...
I live in Houston Texas. Summers are hot, humid, and long. When running errands I will often need to leave the car for just a few minutes. If I have a passenger in the right seat that means they have to endure a rapid heat build up when the AC turns off once I exit. Is there any way to tell...
We need a heater on/off button, similar to the AC on/off. I picked-up my car in May so I haven't spent a winter in it yet. The other day, it was 70-degrees (F) but humid in the early evening. I turned the AC on to take the humidity edge off, but with the temp set at 70-degrees, I felt a little...
I know I can get the cabin temperature on the iphone app, but I can't seem to find it on any of the screens in the car itself. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I confess that I did not thoroughly scour the forums for this answer, so kindly redirect me if warranted.
I took delivery on 4/1/13 in Anchorage, AK (no joke), and while winter is trying to give way to spring, the arctic forces are ahead at the moment. At any rate, the temperature last week...

This may have been talked about, but cannot find it. We were driving to San Francisco today and my wife asked me how the Tesla S gets it heater and air conditioning. We know how an ICE works from coolant and a/c compressor, but could not explain to her how that works on an all electric car. Can...
In some cars we've had, if you run the air conditioning and then turn off the car for some time, when you drive the car again without the air on the vents have a musty smell. The work-around we found was to turn off the air before arriving at our destination to air out the vents with fresh air...
