1UP Bike Rack as a Snowboard Carrier?

I ordered a 1UP bike rack to replace my Yakiam/Tesla rack which has a snowboard attachment. However, 1UP does not sell any accessories that would allow me to carry snowboards. As far as I can tell from pictures, it seems that it should be able to hold two snowboards in each bike tray.

Has anyone done any creative mods to their 1UP bike rack to carry skis/boards?

I have a 1UP rack but no experience with holding snow boards or skis.

My rack came in today and I got a chance to test it out. Looks like I can turn this into an excellent snowboard carrier with just a couple of minor modifications to prevent the boards from scratching the rack. I will have to source some kind of a rubber strip for the bottom track and the inside of the arms. I can probably just slip a pool noodle or a garden hose over the rods but I am sure that I can find something more elegant akin to the rubber tubing that real snowboard carriers have.

Nice however you better put those boards in bags because they will be covered in road grime before you get to the next corner. You know how bad the rear camera can be in winter so imagine the boards.

Good point! A bag might actually eliminate the need for any padding. I will have to find one that is washable and durable enough to withstand the road grime.

If you look at the Thule snowboard converter for their bike rack it's basically just foam and some extra support. I think what you have would be perfectly fine.
