I swapped the Uberturbines to the inductions awhile back with @BMax_V.2

I'm almost at 1500 miles. 273 wh/mi.

This update is compelling, and has an interesting price-break for those waiting on an LR w/Induction (like myself).

Normally the 20" Induction wheels are a $2,000 upgrade. With this new choose-your-wheel option for non-PUP performance, there is no cost bump for Inductions. This effectively lowers the non-PUP upgrade cost from $8K to $6K, when spec'd with Induction wheels in both configurations.

So I guess in a way, Tesla has managed give all prospective buyers that very same $2000 discount - on all Model 3s and now the Stealth Model Y...

Do induction wheels protrude less than the uberturbine wheels? I seem to recall reading a bunch of uberturbine owners complaining that the wheels stick out quite a bit and make it really bad if you get curb rash. Asking because another driver in my family isn't... the best at parking lol.

Do you have any data when you were still in the Uberturbines? Just curious if you noticed a drop when you swapped them.

Yes. I drove mostly locally when I had the Uberturbines, I drove pretty conservatively then and I had about 150 miles on them when I swapped. I averaged around 280 - 290 wh/mi. Local driving with the inductions I average around 250 wh/mi. I also do quite a few hard launches for fun.

I go from the east bay to central valley two or three times a month, it's about 170 miles round trip. I noticed going east, my wh/mi is at 240 - 250 because of the elevation decrease. On the way back, it's about 340 - 350 wh/mi. I drive 70 - 75 mph on AP, FSD.

The drop is noticeable.

I think if I did the same trips with the Uberturbines, I'll average around 290 - 310 wh/mi.

Edit:

Here are some data from TeslaFi of my recent trip out to Sac and back.
