My understanding was that the reasons you cited regarding your solar City employee were a major factor in the mass culling that just happened. But hey, maybe they missed one. The point is, it looked like they were at least trying to get healthy on that front.

We don't have SC/TE in our area yet, would you have gone with a different installer/solution is you could do it over again?

Not finished yet .... still in process as the plans are at the city waiting approval. And NO ... I'd go with TESLA since I'm a shareholder it's important for me to support the home team. I do like the fact I've got a big company backing up their warranty and they have some great mounting technology (it sits flat and looks very unobtrusive) .... FWIW their Powerwall is the big differentiator between brands as it's seems to me to be the best bang for the buck compared to other batteries. I'll report back after install ..... everyone besides my "sales" guy has been on the ball.

I wonder if the stark findings of the EPA's climate change special report issued today by the Trump administration (or at least not blocked by it) are having an impact. Pretty depressing but nonetheless refreshing to see it all spelled out so clearly.

The Trump administration released a dire scientific report Friday detailing the growing threats of climate change. The report stands in stark contrast to the administration’s efforts to downplay humans’ role in global warming, withdraw from an international climate accord and reverse Obama-era policies aimed at curbing America’s greenhouse-gas output.

The White House did not seek to prevent the release of the government’s National Climate Assessment, which is mandated by law, despite the fact that its findings sharply contradict the administration’s policies. The report affirms that climate change is driven almost entirely by human action, warns of potential sea level rise as high as 8 feet by the year 2100, and enumerates myriad climate-related damages across the United States that are already occurring due to 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit of global warming since 1900. Trump administration releases report finding ‘no convincing alternative explanation’ for climate change

Edit: I see that @gene beat me to the punch in the other thread but the link to the report may be helpful.

Today is the kind of day that the shorts like to push the stock lower in the afternoon in the hopes of worrying the longs and reassuring the shorts. Unfortunately for them, the NASDAQ has been on a steady upward climb for the past few hours. Unfortunately for longs, if the NASDAQ climb turns into a descent sometime today, shorts will work to depress TSLA during the NASDAQ decline even though the overall gains by the NASDAQ are still positive. I continue to believe their strategy at the moment is to minimize TSLA climbs when the NASDAQ is climbing and accentuate TSLA declined when the NASDAQ is declining. What they fear is a big run up in TSLA which energizes longs to start buying and shorts to start covering. My guess is that news regarding M3 ramp up or even the Tesla semi-truck event will be the catalyst to get the upward run underway.

For the week, I suspect shorts will try to keep TSLA below 300 on close for psychological reasons.

Someone wanted more shares, and apparently wasn't satisfied until they gobbled up the liquidity at $305.

That said, I have no clue how next week goes though.

Guess who can also use those chargers? Funny how you think other people building chargers which Tesla can use is a "headache". Your efforts here are rather pathetic. I suggest you try wasting your time elsewhere.

lol this diehard Tesla cult is strong. I visit many forums so I like to read bad and good information.
What is the point of a forum if you only accept positive information or make a positive spin to a bad news/ER.

Tesla's success is not guarantee but I will also not ignore the fact that one day it will reach 1000.I will bet accordingly to what the current situation that is in.

Not to be contrite, but perhaps to highlight a sever deficiency on Tesla's end. They have a huge untapped market here out east, but we can't seem to get any of the energy solutions they offer because they aren't "in our area yet". And while, yes, I am an investor, I haven't yet seen the value in choosing their option over another... yet. There are comparable panels available, as well as home storage (this is debatable I admit). And I understand there is a big company backing up the product, but it's also a company that can't seem to deliver timely on promises. It's also a company that can't perfect door handles, chrome trim alignment, or 12v batteries.

I'm all for supporting the home team, or else I wouldn't have the car, but I'm just not sold on the differentiation or lack thereof yet on the rest of the things.

O_S thinks they can chart out a move and that algos and funds will "follow the rules" of longer-term charting. More likely soft support continues through out the quarter until next earnings and/or sale numbers for Q4 are out. Truck and M3 ramp will be supportive - however, both do not validate any sort of financial strength just yet.

Very few people deny that it was a bad report. Obviously Tesla's a few months behind their manufacturing goal. But most of us realize it is just a temporary thing that doesn't affect the medium or long term at all.

Why selling options almost always beats buying them:

Interested in partaking in the casino of weekly options for TSLA earnings, I perused the prices on Monday looking for opportunity. Was aghast at how expensive they were. You could guess the direction right and STILL take a beating unless there was a 10% move. Well, when something is expensive, you don't buy you sell!

So I decided to sell 315 puts expiring this week for 9.01 each. Next day TSLA spiked 10 dollars and I was all puffed at my genius. In my greed, I decided to show conviction and go for the 100% profit. Wednesday back down, but TSLA still above where I executed...and my trade losing money since the premiums had gone up even more pending earnings!

Earnings strike as everyone knows and the directions is badly against. It was as extreme a move as I could have imagined. Honestly, I still don't believe that there were any surprises at all for anyone who cares enough to follow TSLA events. Which is what I expected. Market does not agree. I am suddenly in the red when just a few days before I had a 35 point cushion on breakeven.

I decide to stay the course and at least let the premium get eaten up by time. I felt the bounce I needed to the 306 range was not improbable. Today at 3:55PM EST my 9.00 limit order triggers, giving me a miraculous breakeven on the trade, DESPITE guessing the wrong direction and having the stock move against me to the tune of 15 points for where I sold and bought. Even my greed did not cost me. And greed almost always costs in this game. Buying calls - woulda been wiped. Selling puts, I get it all wrong and come out even.

Man, I shouldn't even be sharing this info....

This narrative that it doesn't affect the medium or long term... is not true. If delays continue, they could have to raise more cash... and that could be under very unfavorable conditions... high interest rates, or if the stock is down another raise could be highly dilutive. I am long and hopefully they will get M3 generating a few thousand per week by eoy, but I am not pretending there is no long term risk if they don't.
