2018 Model S in Freezing weather - car broke down and locked everyone in the car

Car broke down on the 395 heading back from Mammoth to the Bay Area. Message on the screen read "reduced power". We had 166 charge when we got this message. After powering the car on and off and doing the hard reboot - the car completely broke down and locked us in. Could not get out of the car. Only door that would open with the key fob was the trunk. Crawled out of the trunk. Doors would not open from the outside either. After a few mins even the trunk was locked as well and could not access the interior of the car. Finally after 30 mins the passenger door opened from the inside. Tesla claims this has "never happened before". I cannot find an explanation to what we experienced. Was crazy as there was no cell service in the area. Tesla road side assistance recommended we take an uber back home. what a laugh!

The front doors are mechanical and don't have an emergency release. The rear doors don't work without power, and have the emergency cable pulls. I guess the windows wouldn't go down either? That is a scary situation. Keep us posted.

Window could not go down, front trunk locked, glove box locked. Doors would not open from inside or outside. Freezing cold in the car as we had to leave the passenger door open once we got it to open. Only saving grace is that there was no snow storm that day. Waiting to hear back explanation from Tesla.
