I’ve not seen where it is anywhere. Only where you want to collect from. So they must move them about. Or cars that are not allocated are also with customer orders on ships etc.

Tesla know. When I've spoken to staff at the Bristol store, they've called up my order, and seen an estimated delivery date and a current location, neither of which appear on my account online. So I imagine you could call a store up, or contact the central number (whatever that is.)
One caveat, though; since I ordered the car, two staff members knew how to get this info, and one didn't. So it might depend on who you ask.
Oh, and arguably it's not much use knowing where the car is. Mine's been in Zeebrugge for a fortnight, and there's not much I can do about that.

VIN was assigned via lease company and tesla last week over email (didn't show on my account). Tesla advised late December delivery. Just logged into my account it's saying delivery appointment next weekend, 30th Nov.

That'll be 9 weeks from order to delivery.

How long until I can expect to be notified of what registration plate it'll be wearing?

You need to use a referral link at the time of ordering a car. I do not believe Tesla allows a referral code to be added after an order has been placed, and they seem to go as far as saying the only option is to cancel an existing order and place a new one.

Correct, you can only get the miles if you order directly through Tesla

But you do get a referral code weirdly (I have one showing on My Tesla) but only useful if you have a pal who orders directly from Tesla; in that case, you would both get the free miles

Few more performance cars in inventory right now, all for mid jan delivery so not worth me changing over, I do wonder why they put inventory cars on the site that are not even in the Uk.

Agree, very annoying, one of those cars matches my spec however I still haven't had one assigned :-(

Exactly my thoughts, spoke to Tesla and they said the Broker has to do this so email sent !
