I noticed this too, I took the car out last night and it was following far too close. Are you saying just move the right steering wheel ball and the car will adjust distance to lead car on a more granular scale? I'll try that out later I think.
Previously, this functionality was available within the touch screen interface and disappeared in .8 I think and I was unaware of the wheel ball function. Very helpful thread and many thanks for the tips.
