Hey everyone, I took delivery yesterday. Sorry I haven't posted. I took a bad spill earlier this weekend and am waiting on the radiologist to tell me whether or not my wrist is broken. But... initial thoughts:

1. The car is gorgeous. The interior is so much nicer than I expected. The paint looks amazing.
2. 2 fobs, 2 credit card keys, plus phone key. Really great amount of access options.
3. It's FAST. Like, I cannot imagine how fast the Plaid must be. This thing is a problem.
4. The yoke is a non-issue. I have not had any problems.
5. One issue I can't figure out: I linked my Spotify account and everything seems to work (playlists are showing up, etc). But I cannot get the car to play back music. Everything looks like it's working, but it doesn't actually play the music through the app. I can play on my phone and stream from there, but would like to do it directly through the app. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Congrats on your beautiful new car and thank you for the share. What's interesting is that even with your wrist out of commission, you mentioned the yoke is a non issue. That's great news - good luck on your wrist, and best of luck with your new Batmobile!

Just in case it isn't already abundantly clear that SA's don't really know what's going on... I called in to ask about when showrooms would get the car, and also tossed in a "so, any thoughts on when my ETA will get an update?"

His response to the second question was something like: there've been people with Feb / March orders that called in, and got a VIN the next day. I don't think that took the fact that I ordered a 19" Red LR into account at all. I basically scored the most delayed combination. Yahtzee!

I've had August in my account before, but am sitting at blank at the moment.

I just heard back from a delivery specialist that a friend referred to me...
She said that my config shows as expected to get a VIN around July 6th. That's for a Blue/21"/white interior/FSD. RN115*****. It used to say October, then it went blank, then October again and now blank again for the past 2 days. Let's see. Don't want to get too excited, although I must admit that ship has kind of sailed already.

Delivered! Dropped it off for a window tint. Doing 40% 3M all around, I’m not wasting anytime getting it ready

Was it a Vegas number?

Beautiful...and exactly the same as I ordered!

Well, given that we have the same spec and I have a lower RN, this excites me, but big grain of salt given how little these people seem to actually know...

Some initial thoughts with my first hour of driving in it.

- I love the yoke wheel for casual driving; you can be super relaxed and laid back just holding it slightly. Supported high arm on the left side by window, or right slouch with elbow on the middle console, both are super comfortable
- The buttons on the yoke still mess me up. I like the turn signals on the wheel, but I’m still not seamlessly operating it and am clumsy with left VS right while driving
- 180 turns are annoying as hell on the yoke… need time here. it’s not just the top being gone, but the wheel being more rectangular than circle. I’ll grow accustom to this but it definitely was my first annoyance
- Shifting from Reverse to Drive etc is seamless; non issue, and immediately got used to it. This was a concern of mine, and it ended up being so intuitive i deem it a non issue
- The HUD and center display are INCREDIBLE. 10/10. Favorite set up I’ve ever experienced in a vehicle. I’m in love.
- Handles so smooth, as to be expected

I would say for someone who was quite nervous about the yoke transition, I really enjoy it and I’m hopeful I’ll fall in love with it as I get used to the fumbles I mentioned above. I am VERY happy to get this car and it pains me to say this, but it was worth the wait (THEY STILL SHOULD BE BETTER AT SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT THOUGH!!!)

Having dealt with Tesla since 2012 I am confident that:
1. TMC members invariably know more than most Tesla staffers about most things;
2. TMC members always know more about EOQ delivery status and new model delivery status than do any Tesla customer facing people;
3. Despite some really bad customer service issues, the products are so amazingly good that owners tolerate the confusion;
4. Once we have our cars they very rarely require service, and when they do the service is quite decent and frequently amazingly good.
5. Generally we know just about every problem anybody ever has with their cars, and usually about most serious accidents with Teslas, often worldwide.
6. I suspect we pretty much hate the new model wait and early deliveries process. I'm on the third one and still hate it. I'm on my third one so I know the wait will be worth it.
Well said. If it wasn’t for the new model changeover none of this would likely be happening. Obviously process change is not a strength of this company.

Wait, what? A delivery specialist said you should expect a VIN in the next week or so with an RN115...??? When did you order?
If that is the case then they are legit leapfrogging all the FSD orders over everyone else.

Take with a pinch of salt as it was from an SA. Was at the Tesla delivery Centre at Renton in Washington picking up a MY with my friend. I could see some plaids ready for delivery here with one of them being picked up before me. I approached the SA there and gave him my RN number it starts with RN114496 ordered 2/14. He looked at the product build info and said it was in the pre build stage and they had gotten word from the factories that all of these cars which had a date before were removed because they had to change something on the line. All of the ones with a June or August delivery date which had changed to blank would be getting an update tomorrow. Honestly I don’t know if I believe him but just putting this info out there
Guess this SA was just bullshitting as usual
