2021+ Model S LR Delivery Tracking

I'm in the books for the week of February 21 to pick my S up too in IL. Off to PPF immediately following delivery. Doing full front, rockers and rear quarters where they flare out. Tint too. BTW, there's another thread specific to what others have done with PPF titled "PPF or no PPF". I leveraged that for input. You might find it informative.

I ordered the same spec car as you and are west of Chicago. Did you confirm the All Season tires would be on the car?
After having a very small EDD window at the end of the year, I was pushed to 4 weeks in April. Has your EDD jumped much the last few months? Where are you picking up at?

Congratulations! I follow that thread too. I keep changing my mind on PPF. I can’t be without a car for 5 days while they do a full install. How long will your partial install take?

How do you like the 21s (noise, comfort)? I have 19s on my 2020 and I also ordered 19s on my 2022 thinking they are better for range and noise.

Without being able to compare it to the 19s my most recent reference point is a BMW M3. By that standard it’s a Rolls Royce. I’m sure it would be smoother on 19s, but the ride is fine on 21s (even on the BAD roads by my house.). Car seems reasonably quite as well, so I guess overall I’m happy with the trade off for the looks and performance.

With that said, I’ll probably buy the 19s with winter tires next year so I have choices.

Congrats! Beautiful car. I ordered the same except with 19s. Let us know how it handles the snow.

All the snow just melted here and the 21s come with Pilot Sports so I will unfortunately not going to be able to help you there!

Cross posted: Took delivery this morning. A real beauty, only minor issues, mostly weather stripping (the guy who installed it must have been hung over that day, it’s terrible all around). A couple misalignments that are probably minor enough they won’t bother fixing. Only got to drive it 10 mins before dropping off for PPF, but my gosh she’s fast!

Not surprising for an NF469, old lights all around for those who care

You are very wise to getting the PPF. It is the best thing to do in the long run. Are you getting a full car PPF, or a partial front or full front only? I’m torn between my three options after inquiring of cost.

Agreed, and I plan on keeping the car a long time. I’m going full body wrap.

Got it home today. Panel gaps and paint were very good, no problems that I could find. It even included all floormats as well as all the trunk covers.

Two minor issues: the driver’s vanity mirror lights didn’t work, which they quickly fixed, and there was a visible ding in the wood trim above the glove compartment. They entered a service ticket to replace it.

Well even on the 19s, the refresh isn’t as comfortable as our 2019 Raven. That and the ineffective noise cancelation feature are the only things that disappoint me about the refresh.

If I lived in Edmonton, I think I would probably do full wrap too. We don’t have too much winter weather here in Southern Utah so we just did front + rear fenders, rocker panels, and rear bumper.

I've been studying detailing, PPF and ceramic coating since my November order. Been tooling up too. I'll be PPF and coating myself. Never did this before and am looking forward to the challenge.

Long time lurker and avid reader of this thread. I thought I was soooooo close to getting my VIN. With RN1152, I was in the Feb 10-24 window, SA contacted me about updating my trade-in info on Tuesday, I saw the same config I ordered pop up in Atlanta inventory on Thursday, all I need is my VIN! I crossed my fingers and refreshed the app this morning. EDD is now May 11 - June 08. If that date sticks, it will be almost a year from ordering. Elon was 100% when he said the Model S is your own personal roller coaster... 9 EDD changes and that last one made my stomach drop. Congrats to the recent VIN recipients. I'm thankful for this thread.

I have had 15 EDD changes with 6 pushouts after entering my EDD window. Tesla does not honor the EDD's and I am beyond sick of being jerked around. Multiple VINs and deliveries of MSM LR's with order dates after mine so it is difficult to swallow any excuses by SA's that my particular configuration was not being built. The process of assigning VINs to orders makes zero sense to me, and is not fair, especially to folks who have actually been waiting longer than I have. My current EDD is 15 - 31 March, and I have zero confidence that they will honor that one as well.

They said they believed I’d be receiving my VIN fairly soon and that they wanted to be sure to give me a trade-in quote if I needed one. Interesting! This was like an hour after my EDD got pushed out a month (to 3/20-3/31).

Is this a good sign a VIN is coming soon? Anyone else have this sort of phone call right before VIN assignment?

I think this is generally true but you want to establish a timeline reference Tesla uses and not what you think is reasonable. There was someone from Michigan who wrote last week that they were a month away from this call without a VIN. I’m 3 weeks away from a similar call and the only movement has been that I entered my EDD 2 days after the call and I got pushed another month to another month long EDD range.
