2021 Tesla Plaid Michelin Pilot Sport 4s sidewall tear

I noticed this sidewall tear when pulling into my driveway. Don't remember running over anything serious. Would this be covered under warranty?

I'm not sure warranty extends to tires? They're a consumable item on the car. I could be wrong.

Change it out ASAP regardless and count your lucky stars you didn't get a blowout.

Extremely doubt that’s under warranty.

First stop after taking delivery of a Tesla with 21” wheels should be to Discount Tires (America’s Tire out West) to buy their Tire Certificates which DOES cover ALL road hazards with 100% (not prorated) replacement if there’s ending remaining tread wear. YES America’s Tire has sold us Tire Certificates on new tires they didn’t sell us!

I’ve gotten 3 Michelin Pilot Sport 21” tires on my 2015 MS P85D‘s 21” staggered Arachnid wheels which would have cost a LOT more than buying Tire Certificates.

You’ll have a very hard time getting anyone to believe that’s a manufacturing defect vs impact (even if it is).
