@Mr Miserable do we expect all EU bound ships to be going around S Africa going forward as a result of what happened to morning champion or was this an exception and has that risk lessened somehow?
Yesterday 3 ships were attacked by drones off Yemen and a US destroyer got involved in shooting two of them down and so this area is getting a little too hot for comfort. I fully expect the US to take positive and pre-emptive action within the next week to deal with the immediate threat in this area.
Although the prime threat is to ships with Israeli connections, that all depends on the reliability of the intelligence involved and the positive identification of the ships involved. The latter is harder than it sounds and in a busy shipping lane it is very easy to misidentify a ship and this will be a concern to insurers of any ship transiting the area.
So I think the first step will be for Tesla's shipping contractor to find ships that are not likely to be targeted. This is not as easy as it sounds as finding independent car carriers that have available capacity will be difficult and some expensive horse trading may be required to swap ships to fulfill the various task lines. Routing via S Africa is not a long term solution because of the 10-11 day extra cost of sailing and the potential penalties for delivering 10-11 days late (depends on the contract).
Putting armed guards onboard may be a solution but they will have to be able to deal with the emerging threat of UAVs which I'm not confident such teams are trained and equipped for at present. A military convoy solution may emerge but it won't be Israeli warships doing the escorting as the Israeli Navy is not able to provide anything suitable in this area.
Moving the cars by rail is not on the table because it involves crossing Russia and routing via Panama is a non-starter at the moment too.
This will be an enduring problem not just for Tesla but for many other car manufacturers that need to move cars via Suez. Of course, it's not just cars that are affected, many container ships have Israeli connections too.

Hello Mr Miserable and sorry for this question if it has been already asked previously (I’ve read the thread but not sure) : Is there a way to know on which boat is my car with the VIN?
Thanks for all the infos you are providing to us.
If you have your VIN, it's probably worthwhile checking to see whether your car is on a Hoegh owned vessel or not by entering it here.
At the moment I don't think you will have any luck but who knows!

@Mr Miserable wow, thanks for the detailed insight. Certainly a challenge. Hopefully this issue gets resolved asap so those of us waiting deliveries don't suffer impact.
Sorry if you've already mentioned this buy if sending ships via S Africa isn't economically feasible, then why send Morning Champion that way? Wouldn't it be better to hold fire and keep her idle unless the threat has passed rather than commit to a 11 day extended journey when the situation could very well resolve itself in a matter of days?

Tesla will have contracted the ship prior to this all kicking off. The contractor will probably have to swallow the extra costs of the longer voyage and Tesla may impose a penalty for late delivery too.
Having said that I think this is a combined sailing - I think PLATINUM RAY was cancelled completely and as much of her cargo that could fit was loaded on to MORNING CHAMPION.
MORNING CHAMPION has cars for both Barcelona and Zeebrugge.

JIUYANG BLOSSOM has left Shanghai South and is repositioning to the main Haitong terminal. We still don't know whether she is Tesla related.
It's interesting to note PORGY is heading in to Shanghai South to replace her. She is scheduled to be operating in S America next month and so is unlikely to be Tesla related.

How long does it take to offload a quantity of vehicles?
Glovis Splendor docked just after 3pm today and looking at Southampton Docks movements she’s due to depart for Bremerhaven at 21:00 on Thursday .
Is 2 days enough time for a few thousand cars to be unloaded?
Also says she’s due to move from the Western to the Eastern docks at 13:00 that day.

I used to live in a flat overlooking the docks. They would move what was easily hundreds if not thoudands of vehicles of ships in hours. The teams doing it were 50+ people working round the clock. I imagine they pay for how long they are docked.

Tesla are bringing mine to me 9am tomorrow morning now .

According to Wuwa recent twitter post, as you already mentioned, PORGY is not currently found to be carrying Teslas.
Jiuyang Blossom is now docked at north terminal but satellite image are cloudy at south port since he left so we don't know if it's carrying Teslas are not

You're missing a step - at 13:00 tomorrow she moves from her present position in the Western Docks down to the Eastern Docks to load for Bremerhaven.
To answer your question on whether that is enough time, the answer is yes.

South port parking seems to be full today ... waiting for TITUS maybe ?

Fyi lots of RHD spotted by Wu Wa at Shanghai South port.

"Shanghai SouthPort, a large number of right-hand drive Tesla M3 parked, will these be transported in the first quarter of next year? The red style looks particularly dazzling and great! "
The European-sized registration plate brackets suggest these Highlands are headed to the UK, maybe to ROI (less likely given the fairly large number of vehicles).
