As your car is an AP0, the Menu button is not on CANBus , therefore the switching mechanism is on the cruise stalk. Also, please kindly check the checking steps from the PM I sent you about the pin configuration on the OBD2 port, as the vehicle manufactured before June 2013 doesn’t have the Pin 1 and Pin 9 (chassis CAN) which is necessary to our application (controls on steering wheel to the HDMI Box).

If you don’t have Pin 1 and Pin 9 on the OBD2 port, we will have the local agent to send you the TDC to OBD cable and it will solve the problem

Please refer to the following video for the switching function on AP0 Model S

No issues with the ODB2, as I had a 2003 Cobra Terminator and did some changes using ODB2 to it.
So, I went and swapped out the power cable again as you suggested, still no click. Bearbu said his distributor in LA will send me a replacement hdmi box. So looks like we may delay the install, on the side cameras. Will try to tackle the front and back camera wiring alone, or with my friend who also has a Tesla Model S P85.

Keep posting this is great info.

Can you guys tell me what this is used for.?

5. The front camera installed easily on the bottom of my nosecone. I was worried that it would be too low to the ground vs closer to the logo for folks with the refresh model. It worked great however after calibration and I found I could mount it as far back as it would go against the plastic grill and still not have any views blocked while also being very discreet.

6. For getting through rubber boots, I highly recommend using a fiberglass glow-rod and generous silicon.. it makes the job much easier.

do you have apicture of where that place is you ran the front camera cable.

11. Finally, I recommend installing a USB extension cable for both the USB memory stick port (for the “dash cam” recording) as well as the microUSB for firmware updates. Once I got everything inside, i realized it wasn’t going to be convenient to take off the lower dash cover under the steering wheel to pull out an SD card to get the video. With an extension cable mounted somewhere discreetly under the dash, you can easily swap out a USB memory stick so you can plug into a computer.

So you are saying that we can record all 4 camera video.?

What capacity USB stick did you settle on.?

OK, so I have the two pieces installed and see video on the screen.
I will run the cameras this week-end.
Had to put the HDMI box inside to the right of the opening, [ left of the steering column ]
The put the OBD2 blue box back behind the OBD2 plug. It pulls forward when I open the slot.
The hung the 360 box just inside the opening, because I have other Tesla modules behind it.
Just in case of service.
I will determine how to cool it and/or mount it later.
Could not put the HDMI box in the opening by the door where the key fob sensor is located, it is too thick.
Put the IR sensor under my center console

Starlog,

Sorry for the late reply! I had to get on a flight to Hong Kong...

It looks like you did almost exactly what I did! I strapped the 360 module to the exact same location. I did put the blue CANBus interface inside and just routed the cable, however. Great minds think alike, apparently.

Regarding the grommet location, I believe that was it.. however mine happened to have a plastic tube running through it, for what I don't know. Sorry I'm not home or I'd try to snap some pics for you.

Regarding the recording, yes it does record all four cameras. I haven't used a USB stick yet, I've been using a 256GB microSD card but it's been a little flakey either because of a hardware problem or possible the size being too big. I keep getting "insert card" in the screen and then sometimes it works and it let me format it and record. You can play back in the interface although it's a little wonky to work with and I've not yet pulled the card to check what the files are like. Supposedly the system has a g-force shock sensor and a parking mode but I've not yet had the chance to play as I'll be overseas for a couple weeks.

@staran

For the USB extension cables, my plan is to use something like this for the microUSB (for firmware updates):

https://www.amazon.com/Female-Exten...e+panel+mount&qid=1566961308&s=gateway&sr=8-3

and mounting it on the bottom plastic cover under the steering wheel.

And something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Extension-NC...KHKB58XSHAAJBP&psc=1&qid=1566961465&s=gateway

for the USB memory stick, I'd thought about using a panel-mount version but I didn't want the USB stick to poke into the footwell area so I was going to find a way to stick it on flat against the panel.

If I got crazy and wanted to have a switchable input for an AppleTV or something I was thinking about using this:

https://www.amazon.com/JideTech-Per...remote+wired&qid=1566961601&s=gateway&sr=8-13

Which is a little pricey, but has a remote wired button I can put somewhere convenient to switch between the 360 box and an external input. I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do for audio as the Tesla bluetooth doesn't sync audio properly (at least with my iPhone) so the video and audio are not synchronized. Its a shame as it would really be the best option vs using a clunky FM tuner. There are some cheaper options without the long cables but the button is integrated into the box and I'd have to solder a remote button to it (still might to make the installation cleaner).

@KArnold

Regarding the Samsung interface, unfortunately my family is all Apple users so my plan was to build in an AppleTV which would allow wireless Airplay streaming from our phones if we needed that or direct play of content from the AppleTV. I'd guess you'd need to buy a Samsung USB-C to HDMI adapter to directly connect or perhaps get a Miracast HDMI dongle which can allow you to wirelessly stream with no cables. You'd need to test to see if BearBU's HDMI box provides enough power to run the Dongle and you'd also need to figure out how you will do audio much like myself either through bluetooth, FM injector, or some other yet undiscovered method to get an "aux" in.

I was confused about BearBu's comment for a different HDMI switch, unless a "remote" switch is of value. Personally I think I can reach on occasion for the switch, unless I'm missing something.

As stated, I'll see how this works with android. Not sure the BT sound lag is a big concern for me - not sure videos are high on my list even while stopped. For something like notifications for SMS or Waze the lag is no concern.

And clearly this is over my head to install properly. I'm heading to the electric garage next Friday and those guys are going to give it a shot.

Great feedback so far. It is appreciated.

Is there any way to make the cameras of the 360 view system wireless?

I could REALLY use this system as I often have to navigate extremely tight spaces in the DC area but I'm really scared of how invasive this install is and in the inability to find someone competent to do it in the DC area.

Is there any way to make aversion of this system with wireless cameras? It would likely make the install so much easier.

No

So I am in Central Florida, and it is HOT. If I had an air conditioned shop this would be way easier.

Today we pulled the rear camera cable thru the rear lift gate {Trunk}.
I used a chop stick and cut a knotch in it to hold the string used to feed thru the rubber flex tube from trunk to rear window area.
That chop stick came in handy several times.

Also has a 5 foot long cable feeder fiberglass rod to assist me. OH and my friend John helped alot with all kinds of useless guidance. J/K John. HE has the same model as me.

You will want to use a plastic straw to use to help guide the camera cable thru the tight flex tube. I electrical taped it to the rod and you can see in the picture.

Showing the front camera and how I used the flex rod to run the cable thru the hood area.

Those of you that have ordered in the past few weeks, can you change the language to English.?
Mine will not allow for English, and the remote we received is not the same as the one in the manual supplied by Bearbu.

ALSO, are your 360 units getting very hot, just sitting ion the car.?

Mine seems very hot or warmer then normal.
